This is what one of the wheels of the Curiosity rover looks like at the moment after 13 years, 11 months, and 20 days. Zero tire changes.

That's how long Curiosity has been grinding across Mars on the same six wheels it landed with back in August 2012.

And they look exactly like you'd expect.

Gaping holes. Torn treads. Chunks of aluminium just gone, ripped away by rock after rock after rock. This isn't neglect, by the way. There's no garage on Mars. Whatever hardware you launch with is the hardware you die with.

Here's the part that gets me: engineers knew the wheels were shredding as early as 2013, barely a year in. So they started driving the rover backwards over rough patches, mapping gentler routes, rationing every metre of terrain. A billion-dollar robot, babied across a planet like a car limping to the mechanic that doesn't exist.

Nearly 14 years later, it's still moving. Still drilling. Still sending photos home, including this one of its own battered wheel.

Your car needs new tyres every few years on paved roads. This thing has been off-roading on another planet since before most phones had fingerprint sensors.

Just spent the day in Dublin, and it has been absolutely destroyed due to the worst imaginable form of uncontrolled mass immigration.

There are more foreigners than natives now in Dublin city centre.

On one side, you have Indians absolutely everywhere. An imported middle class outbidding Irish people for thousands of incredibly precious and scarce homes.

On the other side, you have the worst cultures on earth. Somalis are everywhere. Women in hijabs with large families, Nigerians, Arabs from North Africa and the Middle East, and South Asians from India, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Bangladesh. Many of them are living in social housing or waiting on social housing. Along the river board walk is nothing but single Arab men who have nothing to do all day after claiming asylum on our taxes.

There is no outcome where this is good for Irish society or social cohesion.

This immigration is disastrous both in scale and in the countries migrants were allowed to arrive from in huge numbers. Many of them are from Islamic-majority countries and are culturally incompatible with Ireland.

Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil have destroyed Ireland for temporary and transient US multinational tax revenue. They should all be hauled in front of the courts for what they have done to Ireland.

If 16,000 people arrived in Dublin Airport in the past six years without a passport and nearly all claimed asylum, and the average cost of processing an asylum seeker, per Dept of Justice, is €122,000 could you tell us how much your wondrous facility has cost the taxpayer in this regard? Thanks.

Almost every one of these was an act of fraud. Yes, on an extremely rare occasion one can lose or have documents stolen during travel, but these weren’t tourists. Most boarded with documents and obviously hid or destroyed them. That’s where the airline they came in with should be fined and forced to immediately return them to the incoming flight’s point of origin. Anyone claiming asylum under such circumstances should be held at a secure remote facility with no access to the country until their claim has been finally decided. Deportations should be immediate once processed. Any laws or regulations prohibiting the above should be changed.

Fair play to the Mirror after today's horrific attack on a woman in a church with a man now arrested. They have disclosed that the suspect is white Irish. This has the effect of nipping any racial or religious speculation (or worse) in the bud. Other mainstream media outlets have withheld the suspect's description.

A fortnight ago, the Mirror received dogs abuse for identifying the suspect in the Jamey Carney murder as an asylum seeker, and was even accused by one minor politician of stoking racism. The same politician would presumably praise the Mirror today for nipping a type of unpleasantness in the bud.

Truth, consistent and reliable, is what we need from our journalists. And frankly, the Mirror is leading when it comes to this trustworthiness.
