Literally some games came from mods running on dedicated servers, like Day Z or PUBG. SQUAD is successor to Project Reality mod for BF2.
Also PUBG basically created the whole BR genre... this is prime example of people in suits talking about things they have no idea about

I've been a fan of WH40K for years, but it's still funny how over the top the setting are.
Reading through like 8 pages of Lion fighting 5 Chaos Terminators in Son of the Forest novel, until it ends with note that the whole fight lasted less than a minute... man.

Finally finished the new, painful, Darktide event. Well the event itself was great, but playing with randoms while at least one of them is constantly shooting Poxbursters when I'm about to push them, didn't really made it that enjoyable.
