Researching and sharing the history and continued evolution of the FIA and international Rallying landscape, from Touring Contest to World Mobility Championship
@RallyJournal I'd like to reply to @RallyingUK point, who has unfortunately blocked me. Many Asian manufacturers, including Hyundai and Toyota, have plants within the USA, as do European companies. I don't agree that the tariffs have changed anything significant.
1) Mercedes focus on floor changes in Barcelona. The W16 gains a new fence profile for improved load through better onset flow, while a revised floor edge features increased chord and new vanes. There’s also a circuit specific rear wing featuring increased camber to improve local downforce and drag.
2) Aston Martin have a revised front wing in Barcelona, but along with a redesign to meet the new regulations, the tip detail between the front wing elements and the endplate has been redesigned to increase load in that area.

@voiceofrally A good watch thank you. I wonder if it's possible to merge WRC and ecoRally Cup.
Manufacturers championship consist of the eco rounds in production cars; drivers and teams take on the special stage rounds, until such time a car can do a combined itinerary.
Rally is rally right?
Perfect sense to appeal to the performance car marques for a performance sport. However, those bosses don't really like alternatives to tarmac in the sun near the airport.
@RallyJournal In his speech yesterday, the US President mentioned Hyundai investment in his country, and with a WEC build it's clear the motorsport department are also influenced by the same market. Perhaps the Rally bosses have considered it for 2027.
It would be difficult to disagree with much of what Dimi says here, although I wouldn't believe Toyota continue in any 'Rally2' championship. Would a 'Rally2 WRC' be commercially sustainable? What does the calendar look like?
In our latest episode of the Powerslide Podcast, @Dimi_WRC ponders whether the future of the WRC lies in the Rally2 class and why ultimately such a downgrade wouldn't solve the WRC's problems. 🤔👀

"Motorsport UK boss David Richards has threatened legal action against the FIA over governance and transparency...
...the new agreement imposes total secrecy without controls, and gives the FIA the right to impose fines of up to €50,000 without a review mechanism."
@Jonnysage_ @DirtFishRally A rally car is a road car. My point is that yesterday's homologation specials are today's Rally3/4/5, and you can buy them, tax, insure and drive them, if you like.
If the manufacturer can't produce a performance level and spec you wish, that doesn't change it being a real car.
