Behind me, you can see 20,000 teddy bears—each one representing a Ukrainian child who has been kidnapped and abducted by Russia, the Russian Federation, by Putin. In red, there will be a large sign clearly stating: “Putin abducted 20,000 Ukrainian children. Bring kids back.”

All of this is part of a large installation that will be presented this Thursday, April 23, at 1:00 PM, and will help people grasp the scale of how many children we are talking about.

Right now, I’m on site where everything is being put together and prepared for this installation. You can see volunteers from Razom for Ukraine (@razomforukraine) placing the teddy bears on the fence to create this powerful display—showing that each teddy bear represents one child.

Under the Bring Kids Back initiative, 150 have come home in 2026 alone, as the UN for the first time classifies such deportations as a crime against humanity.

At least 19,500 children have been taken since 2022, including many sent to Belarus.
