The Nordic Programme is for hundreds of @BAESHagglunds CV90 MkIV tracked vehicles, starting with IFVs, and if realised will be for billions of dollars. The company says a contract will be signed this year. Shephard reports from @cogeseurosatory in Paris.

Onneksi suurin osa eduskunnasta katsoi tämän tarpeelliseksi.
Julkaisimme tänään ohjeistuksen kriittistä infraa koskevan tiedon turvallisesta jakamisesta. Opas auttaa julkisia ja muita keskeisiä toimijoita arvioimaan, kuinka kriittistä infrastruktuuria koskevaa tietoa voidaan jakaa turvallisesti. Lue tarkemmin 👇 https://t.co/ECtuodHafB
France ordered thousands of a machine gun that's 30% lighter than what soldiers usually carry. The FN Evolys cuts weight without losing firepower, and it's a big vote of confidence for the Belgian-made weapon.

If Russia launched an attack tomorrow, no country in Europe has the inventory of missiles, drones, or interceptors required to survive the onslaught.
An often overlooked fact of the war in Ukraine is that Ukraine met its invasion backed by a massive foundation of heavy armor, artillery, air defense, and experienced troops, which is a luxury that European states lack entirely.
People often forget that Ukraine had an immense network of air defense systems and armored fleets ready to go on day one. In comparison, the current state of European stockpiles of equipment and munitions is highly alarming.
We are looking at a situation where most European nations possess almost zero ballistic missiles and a very limited number of cruise missiles. Our interceptor stockpiles are also dangerously low, and we completely lack the drone volume needed to counter a modern war machine like Russia.
The current pace of European rearmament is entirely inadequate. We need to step up industrial production and build a real military deterrent far quicker than we currently do. For that, we need to place large orders of ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, drones, and interceptors
This is more interesting than armored vehicles: Patria WISPR passive counter battery radar system.
No electronic emissions, capability to see anything from an FPV to artillery shell to loitering drone.
Tracks hundreds of targets.

Germany's Diehl Defence wants to give Ukraine's Flamingo cruise missile a far more advanced seeker. The seeker finds the target and steers the missile.
Diehl also wants to build the upgraded Flamingo in Germany, and is now opening talks with Fire Point — Financial Times. 1/
I want to explain what stage the anti-ballistic missile shield is actually at — so that people don’t have to read about it in the distorted accounts of individual media outlets.
The missile itself is ready. From an aerodynamic standpoint, it fully executes all control commands, and it does so with precision and aggression — exactly as required to intercept ballistic targets. We’ve achieved that.
But this is just one element of the system. To actually intercept ballistic targets, the missile still needs to be integrated with a homing warhead, a command center, and radars.
So let’s be as clear as possible. We’ll be able to intercept ballistic missiles once we have the full system: a seeker from a leading European company, integration with C2 centers, a secure datalink for target designation and correction commands that’s resistant to any electronic warfare jamming, and integrated radars. We are already working on each of these components together with our European partners.
We are doing everything we can to protect the skies over Ukraine and the entire continent as quickly as possible.
Olen samaa mieltä Kasparivin kanssa. Putinilla tuskin on mitään aikeita kotiuttaa lähes 800 tuhatta sodan raaistamaa miestä yhteiskuntaan, vaan niille täytyy tosiaan löytää uusi operaatiosuunta.
Tähän on syytä varautua.
