What if...
The sox have a lousy winter this year knowing they can't beat the Yankees, Dodgers, Astros, etc.
Then next winter they sign Mookie Betts (not a Boras client), would that be a redeemable action in your eyes?

@scottmerkin I have actually jumped on board the Hahn train, he knows we won't win a World Series next year and there are some good free agency names available next winter. This is a standard 'nothing' trade with more upside than downside and if it doesn't work we can upgrade RF next year
