Crazy hair don't care!
A lesson of expectations and responsibility.
Expect children to be able to tame their hair only once you teach them (1) it needs to be done, and (2) how to do it.
That is the parents responsibility.
Don't expect them to know what you hasn't been taught.
Trust: it's complex yet simple.
Easy to lose, tough to gain.
Sadly, it's often lost due to selfishness.
But there's hope.
Open, honest communication builds trust over time.
Let's nurture trust together.
Consistency is attractive and critical for success in any endeavor. It says you are reliable, predictable and dependable.
Inconsistency is stressful.
Bonus Dads - be consistent. Doing so will naturally prevent unnecessary stress in the family unit.
Self awareness is a non stop journey.
When you are at a point that you think you know yourself, think again and ask someone you trust for their input.
Chances are pretty good you'll learn something new about yourself.....again. I did.
Bonus Dads - don't be shy asking for help.
I was reminded of this article recently. It's so true.
Bonus Dads - although that 'title' includes 'Dad', don't lose sight of how you got there.....by being with Mom!
Dr. James Dobson continues his conversation with John Eldredge about his book, βGet Your Life Back.β John explains the dangers of a distracted, technology-addicted lifestyle, and suggests that we unplug and learn how to cast our cares upon the Lord.

From time to time, children who have experienced tremendous loss and instability in life need to hear in no uncertain terms that you will never stop loving them
The Smart Stepmom. Ron L. Deal & Laura Petherbridge
All Bonus Dads are step dads but not all step dads are Bonus Dads.
The difference is -
Step Dads are the role a man plays while
Bonus Dads are earned through transition.
Today's Bonus Minute is all about self care - FOCUS on it or you'll have a mental breakdown. I say this from experience, I neglected my mental health and paid dearly.
