@CharlieKnight27 @jandmplus6 These stories are mostly apocryphal. Most realistic scenario is a wrongful-death or injury case if a homeowner shoots a burglar without justification. But the stories people talk about (including the one about the burglar who got stuck in a garage and sued) have been debunked.

I can't imagine a worldview in which that makes sense. I can pay my own interest without hardship. At least with respect to the payment and interest pause, this is not reasoned policymaking. At best, it is lazy. At worst, it's shameless pandering. (5/5)

Regardless of your views on student loan forgiveness, the continued suspension of all payments and interest has been and continues to be nonsensical, at least in the implementation. (1/5)

Taxpayers have been paying my student loan interest since March 2020. There has been no income threshold to the payment pause, no consideration of individual circumstances. Just a complete hold, started by Trump and now continuing at least through the end of the year. (4/5)
