Hi #Dcent a community member got his funds stolen (Mostly XRP) and he was using your wallet. It happened August 19th and he received the same exact message afterwards on his screen. He never had any problem with the different wallets he previously used. And now I see many people got their funds stolen using YOUR wallet.

It doesn't look very safe to me. I understand you are now working on the problem with law enforcement. But are you going to retrieve stolen funds??

So I got more details about the cold wallet hack that happened to this XRP community member. I think it could be helpful for everybody.

He has 2 wallets : #Safepal and #DCent . He had to do a lot of transactions this year and for convenience he was using the 'software wallet's mode. Meaning you can just confirm transactions with your fingerprint without the need of confirming the transaction on the physical wallet. Unfortunately he didn't change the settings back to what it was and got hacked in August 19th and only noticed it yesterday. They took all of his XRP, Flare, XDC and Songbird.

Interestingly they didn't touch his XLM, HBar and Sologenic 🤔

I advise everybody to check and make sure that your wallet asks you to confirm all transactions using your hardware wallet. Either you need to scan a QR code on your wallet or confirm it on the hardware wallet.

I know how convenient the fingerprint option is, but this is not a good layer of protection against a hack.

He filed a complaint to the FBI, they asked all the necessary info. Unfortunately it happened more than a month ago and usually, you need to act very fast in this type of case.

If you read this, I'm devastated for you. You spent so much time helping others to get into crypto, explaining how it works to the community and sharing the word about XRP, I hate this happened to you. But as I said I will help the best I can. So stay tuned.

And to all my followers, please make sure you're safe, that your wallet is set correctly because hackers are so ready to empty your wallet, it could happen to anybody in an instant.

What sad is to see so many influencers recommending the #dcent wallet with fancy biometric option etc...but in the end : people get their funds stolen using this fancy wallet while they never had any problem with other wallets.

I don't want to scare anyone but maybe you should avoid to use this wallet and transfer your funds for a safer option?

Receiving this message after the funds were stolen is not helpful.

Many people seem to experience their funds being stolen.
