Pernah terpikir nabung emas, tapi wujudnya tanaman?
Namanya vanili. Sering disebut “emas hijau” karena harganya relatif stabil dan cukup tinggi di pasar dunia.
Yang menarik, kita tidak perlu lahan berhektar-hektar. Bisa ditanam di pekarangan rumah saja.
Kebutuhan vanili dunia sekitar 10.000 ton per tahun. Sementara pasokan global, terutama dari Madagaskar, masih kurang. Ekspor Indonesia sendiri belum sampai 500 ton per tahun. Artinya, peluangnya masih terbuka.
Soal harga, vanili basah sekitar Rp 85–100 ribu per kilo. Kalau sudah dikeringkan dengan kualitas ekspor, di tingkat petani bisa mencapai Rp 1,5–1,7 juta per kilo. Karena itu, hasil panen tidak harus langsung dijual. Bisa disimpan seperti tabungan.

Most people learn programming as a list of instructions.
Write a loop. Store a value. Call a function.
This book teaches the mathematics that explains why those instructions work, when they fail, and how to prove the difference.
It begins with proofs.
Not the kind where you memorize symbols for an exam. The kind that lets you prove an algorithm will always return the correct answer, even after it runs through a billion possible inputs.
Then comes graph theory.
A graph is just a collection of points connected by lines.
But that simple picture can represent roads between cities, links between websites, friendships inside a social network, or computers passing information across the internet.
Finding the shortest route through those connections is a graph problem.
So is deciding which tasks must happen before others.
State machines explain systems that move between fixed conditions.
A traffic light changes from green to yellow to red.
A login system moves from signed out to signed in.
A computer program can be modelled the same way, which makes complicated behaviour easier to inspect before the code is written.
Counting teaches you how many possible outcomes exist.
That matters when you need to estimate how long an algorithm will take, calculate how many passwords an attacker must test, or understand why checking every possible answer becomes impossible so quickly.
Recurrences show up when a problem solves smaller versions of itself.
Split a list in half. Solve each half. Combine the result.
That pattern sits behind some of the most important algorithms in computer science.
The probability section explains randomness without treating it like magic.
You learn how randomized algorithms make decisions, why hash collisions happen, and how to calculate the chance that a system fails.
This is the mathematics underneath encryption, search engines, networks, compilers, and artificial intelligence.
No calculus-heavy introduction.
No assumption that you are already a mathematician.
Just the discrete mathematics computers actually use, explained through problems you can draw, calculate, and prove.
