The current version of Mathys Tel seems less explosive, less quick, and less assertive compared to the 17-year-old Mathys Tel who moved to Munich. He has difficulties to win one-on-one duels on the wing, even against Salzburg second row players. His decision-making is often rather poor, and his playing style is wild and hectic at times. To be completely honest, yesterday’s game left me with yet another bad impression. Other talents looked better in comparison. I still firmly believe that he should pursue a loan move, and as things stand, I struggle to understand why both the club and the player have once again decided against it.

After days like yesterday, it’s really hard to keep going on X. The things I’ve already seen on my timeline today are unbelievable. This entire platform nowadays is nothing but hate, racism, conspiracies, stupid people pushing their agendas based on half-truths and lies, and extremist bubbles reinforcing themselves in their hate and conspiracies — with Elon Musk leading the charge.

I already took a break from X at the beginning of the month because I noticed how much it affected my mood to see algorithm-driven propaganda every day. It’s nearly impossible to go on this platform without coming across horrifying videos you never asked to see, ultra-right-wing threads, or people pushing their agendas with lies and misinformation. It’s painful to see what this platform, which was once a fun place to engage with others in your areas of interest, has turned into.

Es ist krass, wie geschichtsvergessen mitunter (rechts-)konservative Menschen sind, um in ihrer "früher war alles besser" und "nichts darf man mehr" Welt zu leben.

Freddie war 6 Jahre, als Alan Turing in England Zwangssterilisiert wurde. Er war 23 zum Zeitpunkt des Stonewall-Aufstands in der Christopher Street. Er starb an AIDS. Diese Krankheit wurde abwertend auch als "Schwulenpest" bezeichnet und befeuerte die damalige Diskriminierung. Ein junger Horst Seehofer wollte damals in den 80ern (Freddie lebte in München) Aidskranke "in speziellen Heimen" sammeln, gar "konzentrieren". Der bayr. Kulturminister meinte "Homosexualität gehöre in den "Randbereich der Entartung".

Es war alles andere als ein "wir lebten und haben leben lassen". Die WHO führte bis 1990 Homosexualität als Krankheit. Erst seit 1994 ist Homosexualität in Deutschland nicht mehr strafbar (§ 175). England war da 1982 etwas schneller.

Dass Freddie Mercury später anfing seine Homosexualität nicht mehr zu verheimlichen (er war zuvor mit einer Frau verheiratet) war eine absolute Ausnahme die er sich nur als Weltstar und nach seinem Durchbruch leisten konnte. Andere wie bspw. Elton John outeten sich deutlich später.

Freddie Mercury, ein Kämpfer für Gleichberechtigung und Queere-Rechte als Beispiel für "good old times" die man vermisst zu nehmen, eine Zeit in der Schwule diskriminiert und in Angst leben mussten ist blanker Hohn und Geschichtsrevisionistisch.

Berlin's official city portal just wrote our film No Other Land has "antisemitic tendencies". A film that won the Berlinale and was recently invited to a special screening in the German embassy in Israel. It pains me to see how, after murdering most of my family in the holocaust, you empty the word antisemitism of meaning to silence critics of Israel's occupation in the West Bank (the topic of our film) and legitimize violence against Palestinians. I feel unsafe and unwelcome in Berlin of 2024 as a left-wing Israeli and will take legal action.

The club should also fundamentally question whether they're using him correctly. In my opinion, he plays far too much out on the wing. He can initiate actions from wide positions (through deep runs toward the goal, etc.), but he's not a winger, and against deep-sitting opponents, he rarely manages to get into his situations and isn’t involved in the box enough. I believe he’d be much better positioned in the half-space, where he could regularly make runs into the attack, which should actually complement Kane well. Let’s see how the situation develops.
