But even so, the existence of different models for the same objective stat doesn’t make each objective model “subjective.” You could argue that the decisions made to formulate and weigh each model are subjective though.

@chisledtip24 @kneary22 No stat is perfect, of course. But the reason it’s become widely accepted and cited and appears everywhere is because it’s been refined to give an objective measure of a player’s value over any period of time. That’s not what subjective means. WAR is an objective stat.

@chisledtip24 @kneary22 Because it’s a cumulative value stat that’s highly relevant to a player’s total value for a season. PCA has been terrible at the plate for the last month-plus. But all the games matter, not just the most recent ones.
