@johnjhorton @metasdl Reading the abstract, they appear to be looking at the XP results on the XP platform. I'd guess most meaningful distortion happens downstream, e.g., "let's ignore this month because it's weird."
@SwiftOnSecurity I think it's worth drawing a distinction between things that are new and things that have been there a long time. We know the latter category is compatible with human existence. Less can be said of the former.
@JimParsonsVera@jenniferdoleac@verainstitute I think all of those CI leaders would say that you need to assume assignment to treatment is unconfounded.
After controlling for observables, what results in different choices? Are they partially due to some unmeasured factors that also affect outcomes?

@jrysana Representative democracy is useful. Can’t show every voter classified intelligence. Can’t show every shareholder sensitive internal data.
What’s a militia-esque balancing mechanism?
@0xAlaric Different optimizations. The super serious ultralighters are trying to do stuff like hike the AT (2,285 miles with 98 miles of elevation gain) in 60 days or less.
The weekend warriors are aping the pros (like any hobby) and trying to minimize injury.
