Planes, trains, & automobiles are my passions. And ships. Can't forget about ships. Road trips with my girl, my favorite pastime. Born too late. ๐บ๐ฒ ๐ค๐ผ ๐บ๐ฒ

Yarr, matey! The biggest dino, a measly 85 tons o' bones, ain't nothin' compared to me prized blue whale, weighin' a monstrous 200 tons! Its heart alone, 6 feet wide and 400 pounds, be the grandest treasure o' the seas!
I teach auto shop at a small high school. We work on students cars, teachers cars, students parents cars and some community people cars. We only charge for parts and not labor, so we saved some people a lot of money last school year. This last school year we did 126 oil changes, 68 brake jobs, 85 alignments, 4 steering racks, 22 tune ups, 32 struts, 20 shock absorbers, 4 transfer cases, mounted and balanced 82 new tires, 4 timing chains, 15 valve cover gaskets, 14 thermostats, 4 radiators, 12 in tank fuel pumps, 8 EVAP canisters, 6 exhaust manifolds, 4 mufflers, 15 AC repairs including evacuate and recharge, 8 alternators, 22 batteries, 9 starters and so much more! Proud of those students I am!
This photograph should stop you cold when you read whatโs about Eleven Northrop YB-49 flying wings, lined up at the Hawthorne plant in California, around 1949. No fuselage, no tail โ just pure wing, like something pulled straight out of a science fiction novel.
Jack Northrop spent his entire career obsessed with this design, convinced it was the future of aviation. And he wasn't wrong โ he was just about 40 years too early. The program was cancelled, the aircraft were scrapped, and the dream seemed buried.
Then in 1989, the B-2 Spirit rolled out of a hangar and the whole world finally understood what he was talking about.
The YB-49 never made it into production. But looking at this image, it's hard not to feel that something genuinely important was lost โ and remarkable that one man's vision survived long enough to reshape the skies anyway.
Some ideas don't die. They just wait.
ICYMI - History in Motion: Big Boy No. 4014 reached a historic point on its coast-to-coast tour to celebrate #America250 on Friday โ rolling onto @nscorp tracks ๐ค๏ธ for the first time since #UP4014 was delivered to Union Pacific in 1941.
Friday was our first day operating an integrated consist with both Union Pacific and Norfolk Southern heritage cars, as well as NSโ newly unveiled No. 1776 The Bell. As #BigBoyHeadsEast, expect more historic and patriotic power from both railroads.
Safety Reminder: When coming out to see Big Boy, stay at least 25 feet back from ALL railroad tracks for safety.
22 yrs ago today, after a long zoning dispute with local officials that ruined his business, welder Marvin Heemeyer had enough & created the Killdozer.
He destroyed the mayorโs house, the judgeโs house, town hall, the police station, & the bank - while avoiding hurting civilians or their property.
Happy Killdozer Day to those who celebrate ๐
