I will share more thoughts as I process the past year, but for today I simply want to say that the overwhelming emotion I am feeling is gratitude. We may not have won, but I am so thankful for this opportunity and for the people I've met along this journey. More to come soon!
The campaign may be over, but serving the community never stops. Long, tiring, but rewarding day volunteering in the kitchen with my friends at @hopeofthevalley. #service#homelessness
No matter what else is going on, it is always an honor and a blessing to serve the most vulnerable members of our community with these incredible people. #hopedealer#homelessness#outreach#service
Wishing a happy #pride month to our LGBTQ friends, family, and community. With extra love going to one special boy in my life who recently came out as trans and is showing incredible strength in the face of some ignorant people in his community. You are loved!
There are times to speak, and times to listen. The voices that most need to be heard today are those of the families for whom today is a solemn reminder of loved ones lost while serving their country. #MemorialDay https://t.co/dIWVSq5Hun
If you're local, come out and spend some time with fellow community members this weekend. Support community organizations, and join us for a free dance class. My heart still hurts, as I know it does for all of us, so I'm really looking forward to this time together. #SFV
If the GOP truly believes we could stop mass shootings by addressing mental health, we should expect to see a GOP sponsored bill that provides universal mental healthcare access in this country any moment now. Let's see it. #GunReformNOW
Absolutely heartbreaking. School shootings are not normal, and must not be normalized. How many more of these must we see before our lawmakers take action to control this epidemic?

I'm proud to be supporting some of the student members of my folklorico dance community at the Reseda Charter High School dance showcase this week. I'm especially honored to be joining them onstage for a special tribute to the incomparable Selena. #dance#sfv
Seeking Unhoused Artists & Performers in the SFV! I'm proud to be supporting this event through my work with AMFB, and through bringing together two of my major focuses: #homelessness and the arts. If you are, or know, an interested #artist please DM me or write the email listed.
Just toured @hopeofthevalley's new Trebek Center with my AMFB teammates and was impressed! I especially love the Center's focus on providing full-time mental health services, and how much thought went into creating a welcoming and healing environment. #homelessness#mentalhealth
Wishing a Happy Mother's Day to all mothers out there. Also, an extra note of compassion for all those for whom today is a difficult day. For those who didn't know their mother, didn't grow up with one, who have lost theirs, or for any other reason - be kind to yourself today.
In honor of today, I wanted to share a recent video of me doing a traditional Mexican folklórico dance. For me, as I know it is for many Chicanos, music and dance are two of the ways through which I feel most connected with my family culture and history. ¡Viva el Cinco de Mayo!

If you aren't already involved in the midterms in some fashion - I hope this lights a fire underneath you. One major way to combat this is to keep Congress, and especially the Senate - blue.
22) If you or someone you know is struggling with mental health, the National Institute of Mental Health compiles a list of resources available: https://t.co/51Ma6THRcw
1) A thread on mental health: May is Mental Health Awareness Month, and I want to take a moment to highlight this, as there is a real case to be made that mental health is both our most critical and most under-recognized issue in the US.
21) Maybe if we can remove the stigma around mental health, we will better be able to have these needed conversations and move forward on the policies that will address this most human of crises.
