Advice to young people:
If you can change a metric ton of diapers and then tell other humans to put their dishes in the sink a trillion times, congratulations. You’re ready for 85% of parenting.
One time in high school my friends and I went Christmas caroling. But we had a list of 12 or 15 songs we’d sing them ALL.
It was about 20 degrees out.
When we ran out and started Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, our principal locked his door and went to bed.
At least he tried.
@holyqueerit I run a nonprofit and some of my volunteers are also major donors. Others are college students. I start with the assumption everyone buys a ticket to events, but I definitely comp tickets for a few folks every time.
For over 10 yrs, I’ve had “my karaoke song” picked out. It changes from time to time, but I practice. That way when we show up and everyone is trying to decide, I’m ready.
And I’ll nail it every time.
Thing is - I don’t enjoy karaoke.
Haven’t been since 2003.
My school gave out “student of the month.” Two per class, per month.
In elementary I never got it. In middle school either.
Senior year I was finally selected. But there was a questionnaire to fill out, and I filled it with jokes.
I was un-selected as student of the month.
