When #Uttarakhand’s indigenous Rung community stopped a group from installing a Shivling near #OmParvat , which they consider sacred, the dispute was about far more than an idol. The Rungs, who worship #Shiva in the form of #mountains and #rivers of the #Himalayas, feared the installation would mark the beginning of a larger transformation, which would erode their centuries-old traditions and turn a sacred natural landscape into a commercial pilgrimage site.

A mother should never have to search through garbage to find food for her babies. Yet here she is, desperately looking for something anything to ease their hunger. 💔

Imagine the pain of watching your children cry from hunger and being unable to provide for them. The fear, the helplessness, the desperation. No mother, human or animal, deserves to go through that.

While we go about our daily lives, countless innocent animals spend their days searching for scraps just to survive another night.

If this doesn't break your heart, nothing will.

Please remember to leave out some food and clean water whenever you can. A small act of kindness from us can mean the difference between life and death for a hungry soul.

No mother should have to dig through trash to feed her babies.
