She assumed he knew. He must know, she thought, after all these years.
But she now understands that people need to hear it. They need to know specifically what you love, not just that you love them.
The specific things. The way he made coffee. The sound of his laugh. The safety of his presence.
She never said these things enough. She hopes he knew anyway.
