After joining the Home Ministry, Gyanesh Kumar was 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗠𝗢𝗧𝗘𝗗 𝗧𝗢 𝗔𝗗𝗗𝗜𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡𝗔𝗟 𝗦𝗘𝗖𝗥𝗘𝗧𝗔𝗥𝗬.

Gyanesh Kumar remained in this position from 𝟮𝟬𝟭𝟵 𝘁𝗼 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟭. It is claimed that he prepared the 𝗔𝗕𝗥𝗢𝗚𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 𝗢𝗙 𝗔𝗥𝗧𝗜𝗖𝗟𝗘 𝟯𝟳𝟬 matter in Jammu & Kashmir for Amit Shah.

The 𝗦𝗛𝗥𝗜 𝗥𝗔𝗠 𝗝𝗔𝗡𝗠𝗔𝗕𝗛𝗢𝗢𝗠𝗜 𝗧𝗜𝗥𝗧𝗛 𝗞𝗦𝗛𝗘𝗧𝗥𝗔 𝗧𝗥𝗨𝗦𝗧 was also constituted under his administrative responsibility, according to this account.

In 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟮, he became 𝗦𝗘𝗖𝗥𝗘𝗧𝗔𝗥𝗬 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗠𝗜𝗡𝗜𝗦𝗧𝗥𝗬 𝗢𝗙 𝗖𝗢𝗢𝗣𝗘𝗥𝗔𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡, which comes under Amit Shah.

Under the new provisions, the rules, procedures and legal framework governing the CEC have changed, and critics argue that these provisions provide 𝗚𝗥𝗘𝗔𝗧𝗘𝗥 𝗟𝗘𝗚𝗔𝗟 𝗣𝗥𝗢𝗧𝗘𝗖𝗧𝗜𝗢𝗡 to the Election Commission.

The Election Commission has also been given significant constitutional and statutory powers.
