@ERlKAFlGUEROA I likewise agree. The bombardment of influencer marketing and products on platforms may promote impulsive spending and irresponsibility with finances. Perhaps there should be banners or pages alerting a user if they have spent a lot over a certain amount of time.
There needs to be professionalism expected of soccer players. Just because a player like Garnacho isn't satisfied with a game doesn't mean he gets to join in on criticism of his manager. Although he apologized, he needs to remain professional. #BeachSMC

It's good that videos on social media exposed this defect--a faulty pedal trip could spell serious danger for Cybertruck drivers, as the car will keep on accelerating unless brakes are applied. At least the Cybertrucks are recalled for now. #BeachSMC

@priscillah42 Yes, I agree that parents need to set the tone with their children about phone and social media usage in class. I also agree that there is truth to media affecting learning, and that it's also a lack of responsibility from the parents.

This is concerning. Since today, younger teens and children can access social media, there need to protections to make sure they're not exploited or radicalized. It's good that some companies are launching parent tools, but they need to do more.

My mom represented a teenage girl's family who was abused by a SDPD deputy looking for girls on Snapchat. I agree with the parent in this article. Parents should monitor their kids' social media use to prevent stalkers from abusing their kids. #BeachSMC
@LM_6000 I agree, cybercrime is definitely a more complicated thing to tackle, but there needs to be more protections for the families of the deceased to protect from exploitation. Not only are cybercrimes like this financially horrible, but morally repugnant as well.
I agree, misinformation of physical and neurological health can run wild on social media by people who are not qualified, which can trivialize or infantilize conditions like ADHD and autism. Good for Youtube to promote medically-backed videos.

Since younger children in family vlogs often can't consent to have their likeness online, then they should at least be entitled to have a share of revenue, and should not be exploited by their parents. Kids need protections.

@tricvu I agree, this may encourage responsibility on the part of these companies and will make the public aware of which companies are using sensitive data. People should know if their sensitive data is being used by these companies.
Concerning how kids may develop social and attentive deficits through prolonged social media usage. Parents are right to be concerned, and should prohibit social media usage for their kids; at the very least, implement restrictions.

I agree, social media has drastic effects on mental health and connection, which is a cause for concern, as the Surgeon General stated. While technology programs such as Groove and Rendever may try to foster connection, it is not a substitute.

@mltthew I concur. If satirical sources do not disclose their satirical nature, then that is social mediaโs responsibility to make that disclaimer. I would also argue that Xโs subscription-based verification has removed a key gatekeeper between fact and fiction.
Interesting to see bipartisan support for this bill. Perhaps a ban for kids 14 to 16 is not feasible, but, citing mental health, political extremism, and self-esteem concerns, kids 13 and younger should not be allowed on social media sites. #SMCBeach

I do think this is a good call on behalf of the Southern Alamance Middle School. Students are there to learn, not to make TikTok videos, which cuts down on valuable learning time. Students may make videos after school. #SMCBeach
