Senator Mushtaq was stopped at Kahuta Bazaar by Punjab Police yesterday while returning from AJK and forcibly taken into custody. His whereabouts remain unknown. This is a blatant violation of the law by a repressive regime where no citizen is safe from its authoritarian tactics.

Totally condemn the killing of innocent people in Mirpur and other areas of Azad Kashmir.

Shooting directly at protesters who were peacefully expressing their political views is barbaric.

I will be speaking with government representatives in Pakistan and AJK to call for accountability, condemnation, and immediate action to move towards a peaceful resolution.

Speaking up against the killing of innocent people is a moral and human duty. To remain silent is an injustice to humanity.

which is the fundamental duty of the state and its institutions—bullets are being fired at unarmed citizens and peaceful protesters. This is extremely tragic and utterly unacceptable.
​Whenever the people of any region stand up for their basic rights, against inflation, or against injustice, instead of listening to their grievances, there is an attempt to silence them through force and violence. Using force against our own citizens is not only a state injustice, but it also deepens the dangerous rift and hostility between the public and state institutions.
​Our stance—and that of Imran Khan—has always been clear:
​The duty of the state is to provide protection, respect, and dignity to its citizens, not to suppress their voice through force.
​Violence against unarmed citizens is unacceptable under any circumstances and can never be a solution to any problem.
​Such actions will only heighten public anger and sow seeds of division, chaos, and hatred across the country and the region.
​We demand that the authorities and administration immediately stop the use of force and violence. The demands and rights of the people must be recognized, and issues should be resolved through meaningful dialogue.
​If this use of force against our own citizens does not stop immediately, the flames of hatred will spread further—and the full responsibility for this will lie entirely with the current rulers and state institutions.

عمران خان کی حکومت گرا کر، تین سال عمران خان کو بدترین قید میں ڈال کر پاکستان کے چپے چپے میں جو آگ لگا دی گئی ہے۔ کوئٹہ سے کشمیر تک، اسلام آباد سے مریدکے تک جیسے اپنے لوگوں پر انہی کی حفاظت کے لیے مہیا کی گئی بندوقوں سے، انہی کے پیسوں سے خریدی گئی گولیوں سے، انہی کا خون بہا کر، انہی کے دیس کو لہولہان کیا جارہا ہے۔ جیسے خیبر پختونخواہ سے بلوچستان تک کو اپنے مقاصد کے حصول کے لیے آگ کے دہانے پر پہنچا دیا گیا ہے۔ یہ صرف اور صرف اس بات کی تصدیق کرتا ہے کہ رجیم چینج کی سازش صرف عمران خان کو ہٹانے کی سازش نہیں تھی یہ ملک توڑنے کا سودا تھا۔ عاصم منیر اور اس کے ماتحت ٹولے نے پاکستان کو جس آگ میں جھونک دیا ہے پاکستانی قوم کو فیصلہ کرنا ہوگا کہ ہم نے ایک ایک کرکے اپنی باری کا انتظار کرنا ہے یا ایک ہی بار اور متحد ہوکر اس عفریت سے نجات کے لیے تگ و دو کرنی ہے۔ شاید ہمارے پاس ایسا کرنے کے لیے زیادہ وقت نہ بچا ہو۔

It has now been around 1,100 days since my father, Imran Khan, was imprisoned, and my brother and I haven’t heard his voice since March. For months, we’ve been denied contact with him. We remain in the dark about his access to healthcare as his eyesight continues to deteriorate. He urgently needs medical attention, and with no family or legal access, we don’t even get any second hand information or reassurance.

I’ve found myself especially missing him recently. I want to speak to him about mundane things like my cricket, books I’ve been reading and what new movies are good. I understand the people of Pakistan want their chosen leader free, but I miss my father more than ever.

But this is not just about a father. It is about Pakistan, and its future. A rigged, authoritarian regime continues to crush political opposition, undermine democratic institutions, and deny millions of Pakistanis their right to freely choose their leaders, whilst terrorising those who speak their beliefs.

I once again plea to the international community to not look away. Silence in the face of injustice only enables it.
