I witnessed the signing of an agreement for a charitable initiative today between @MBRInitiatives and Azizi Developments, in support of the Mother’s Endowment campaign. In a generous act of philanthropy, Azizi Developments has committed to donating AED600 million towards the construction of an educational complex that was previously announced by @HHShkMohd. This is one of the largest ever charitable donations in the UAE. We thank Mirwais Azizi, the founder and chairman of Azizi Developments, for his contribution. This gesture exemplifies the vital role the private sector plays in Dubai as a partner in the nation's development.

كشته و زخمی شدن تعداد زیادی از همکاران سابق من در وزارت امور خارجه در نتيجه انفجار امروز عميقا" متأثرم ساخته است.

Granted that regional trade is not a ‘zero sum’ game, but in a hugely imbalanced environment, territorial control makes a difference. This is practically the only edge AFG has in regional connectivity and it must be protected.

Recent positive trend in AFG-PAK trade & transit is good news & should be sustained based on principles of just and equitable benefit and shared prosperity. 1/6

Strategically speaking, even mainstream routes will continue to remain relevant, esp for trade with Uzbekistan & Turkmenistan, the new corridor will give PAK the upper hand in regional connectivity through greater territorial control, displacing AFG to a peripheral player. 5/6
