I’m proud of my playing career - the highs, and more so the lows, have molded who I am as a person, teacher, and coach. I’m honoured to be a small part of this massive movement. ⚽️🖤🇨🇦 #CWNT
🥇“Canada’s Golden Legacy”🥇
On Friday Night we took some time to honour Justine Bernier. This season we will take time to honour local women who have had a hand in taking Canada from no national team at all in 1985, to winning GOLD in 2021.
Not to mention I have a legit degree in teaching. And STILL I have youth parents calling into question my quality as a coach because … I’m a women. 🤦🏻♀️ #makeitmakesense#female#Equality#girlsinsport
It baffles me that people still wonder why there is a lack of female coaches in Canada. I have 30 years experience as a player, 20 years as a coach from grass roots to the Youth National Team. Played and captained NCAA Division 1, played international & professional.
It frustrates me that we only talk about the identity crisis and depression elite athletes face once they retire. We all know it’s coming. So stop identifying the problem after the fact and work on building the intersectionality of the person as soon as you can!
988 is a new phone number (in Canada) to help people get help in a mental health crisis. Similar to 911, this line is dedicated for anyone in need of assistance of any kind. Copy & re-post to demonstrate that someone is always listening.

I think the purpose of life is to continuously invent and reinvent ourselves. Bringing our learnings and experiences into new adventures in an attempt to discover to full potential of our intersectionality. #mentalhealth#sports#ongoingeducation#canadasoccer#sportcanada
@dmendonca89 In my experience…it will always be money. I think start with NWSL, and once CPL shows to be sustainable and ideally profitable, why not partner with the mens team programs. Need both short and long term visions.
Having a Woman’s Pro League in Canada is an amazing idea - however I do not think it should be at the expense of a post secondary education opportunity. I was told I could either quit school or play for Canada. I use my education a lot more than a badge. #canadasoccer
Top 5 Humberto quotes to me so far in Portugal-1 Justine, stay away from the freaking dog. 2 Justine, leave the cat alone. 3 Justine, you’re not buying anymore sweaters. 4 Seriously Justine you don’t need a sweater. 5 Justine you can’t eat beef a casa 3 days in a row #travelbuddy
7 years ago today. Little did I know that would be one of the last games I’d ever play…3 staples in the eyebrow, 2 compression fractures in the back…a laundry list of chronic injuries…and some bad ass scars. Worth it?…ya. #forthebadge#canadasoccer#onceuponatime
