@DougPolkVids Any of these folks have links where they called out the "scam" before things came to light and you acted? It's an easy game with hindsight.
@thedynajoe Thanks for your talks on Temporal+TF, I've watched multiple times! Do you have more thoughts on the VPC/Subnet resources being split up in your example? I'd tend to put those in the same activities while opting for separate activities for things like VPC and peering.
@ObviouslyAware@vikastandon@kelseyhightower Why include "from your bank account" here unless you're comparing to a centralized and insured exchange? Was "can cash be lost/stolen" too weak of a position?
@kelseyhightower These takes seem to unnecessarily couple everything blockchain-related into a single strawman. I know you know this, but utility tokens, currency tokens, NFT scams, and legit NFT applications are all different topics and can be explored independently. Is the coupling intentional?
@kelseyhightower For example, gamers have been buying and selling in-game items for decades. This is done on high-risk 3rd party websites. Some games being developed now are using NFTs for in-game assets (giving digital "ownership" to the player) that can be traded on any number of exchanges.
@kelseyhightower Does this mean your issues with NFTs are specifically related to ones that happen to contain artwork? I think the pretense of goals for an artist is unnecessary as the metadata on an NFT does not have to involve art or artists.
