90,000 shares in, and my conviction hasn’t wavered. The transparency matters, but the bigger signal is the discipline: clear inventory, protect velocity, keep building the machine, and refuse to optimize for one quarter. I’m still adding. Great businesses are rarely rebuilt in a straight line @nejatian
Excited to share that I'm joining Opendoor as Chief AI Officer, where I'll be bringing frontier AI to the way people buy and sell homes.
I've known Kaz for 11 years, and the chance to build something alongside him is a rare thing. Grateful for my time at Meta MSL, but this was the opportunity I couldn't say no to.
The way people buy and sell homes hasn't fundamentally changed in decades. I believe AI is about to change that, saving real Americans real time and real money, and making homeownership more within reach.
That last part matters most. Homeowners put down roots. They invest in their families and their communities. A nation of homeowners is a stronger nation. That's the mission, and we're just getting started!
@nejatian That book hits different when you’re building something that challenges entrenched systems, exactly what you’re doing at Opendoor. Passing Friedrich Hayek to your son while reshaping real estate in real time is the kind of legacy that actually compounds💪🏽
If the inventor of the lever nut ever needs a kidney or a getaway driver, I’m your guy. You turned a "call the fire department" job into a "I’m basically Nikola Tesla" afternoon. #wago 🔌⚡️
@eastdakota Why wait for a For Sale sign from a leadership team that treats Park City like a line item? Hostile takeovers were designed for exactly this kind of stewardship failure. Let’s stop asking for permission and start planning the acquisition🥷
@nejatian Underwriting is usually where the momentum goes to die. By solving for speed at the source, you’re fundamentally changing the physics of the transaction & proving that liquidity is a moat that matters. #Faster
The true disruption isn't just speed; it's certainty. An AI-native mortgage shouldn't be a one-time check, it should be a 'perpetual pre-approval' that dynamically adjusts purchasing power in real-time. Remove the 'if' from the buying process completely. That is the winning CX. Bullish on this vision. $OPEN
@nejatian@CandiceMalcolm@junonewscom Watching a leader champion his partner’s genius with this level of conviction is powerful stuff. It’s clear from the sidelines that her foresight, and your support, are a formidable combination. Respect to you for setting the standard on how to honor that kind of impact.
Utah is quietly doing what builders actually need done: low friction, predictable rules, and a deep bench of execution-oriented talent. Salt Lake City is stacked with engineers, operators, and founders who know how to ship, not just talk. This is not hype or ideology, it is systems design at the state level. Capital and companies flow to where velocity is protected.
What most people miss is this is not ideological, it is architectural. Jurisdictions that design for speed, clarity & iteration will absorb talent, capital, and innovation, while high friction systems slowly hollow themselves out no matter their intent. Builders follow physics, not politics, and the compounding effects are already locked in.
@nejatian Exactly. That kind of delta only happens when you respect constraints & rebuild from first principles. Fast is not an optimization, it is a decision @nejatian
