Cecelia Waterfall never gets old. One of my favourite spots in Cape Town to hike after heavy rainfall, every time I visit, I find a new composition worth chasing. With no wind I waspresented a unique chance to get right up close, under the fallen logs, and shoot some dynamic wide angles with the Canon 10–20mm f/4 and my 24mm.
Also: yes, I showered in it. Speedo style.

Feels like Poseidon was calling on this one. I don't often post black and white shots but I think this one really stood out. Which do you prefer?
Background to these shots: It's strange how often this happens to me. You're busy scrolling through your archives digging up an old image, when suddenly you come across a shoot you did, but never edited. In this case, while the shot I was hoping to find would lead to another repetition of a crazy Cape Town thunderstorm which never happened, the consolation prize was finding this shoot - which included these shots as well as a pretty darn cool time-lapse from Blouberg back in 2021. 🤣
There's no greater compliment to a photographer after a hard night of shooting than seeing people proudly sharing your images over social media after.
After an action packed night photogrpahing the Bat Run 2025 this past weekend it's a nice reminder of why I do this, to tell stories and capture the energy of humans persevering.
So proud to have been part of this event after years of seeing it through other photographers' lenses. A proper initiation into Cape Town’s trail running community!
And a special thanks to the Bat Run team for giving me a chance to join the team!

When you push yourself to find different compositions of a subject you have photographed dozens of times...and the challenge pays off. Last nights sunset from Kloof Corner. #CapeTown#lionshead#landscapephotography
Someone asked me for a headshot. So, I gave myself an hour to shoot it! This is how it went!

Our full moon expedition was epic: starting with a stunning 4x4 sunset safari & lucky spotting of a klipspringer as we wended our way up the mountain.
To add to that magical once-in-a-lifetime feeling, we even had a surprise proposal... congratulations Felix and Estelle 😍

Capturing fog in Cape Town isn’t just luck—it follows a pattern. It forms when warm, moist air from the Atlantic meets the cold Benguela current, creating that dreamy low cloud we all love.
When to watch for it:
📍 Mornings & evenings - Especially when the seasons start to shift from summer into winter and vice versa.
📍 After hot days, a cooler night can bring in mist.
📍 Low wind conditions. Too much wind disperses the fog.
The trick? Be ready before sunrise or sunset when the fog glows golden.

Is it just me, or is satellite traffic getting crazy? 🚀✨
Groot Winterhoek, South Africa. A calm, crystal-clear night—no wind, just stars stretching across the sky. Perfect for a Milky Way shot… or so I thought. Over the 5 hours and 30 minutes I shot the satellite traffic just kept getting worse and worse. Annnd hate to say it but Starlink is the worst.

A perfect night for a Batrun reccie 2025/02/08.
Every jouney begins with it's first step...and this was my second into the world of photographing trail runners. Could not ask for better conditions to experiement with portable flash photography at twighlight.

Would you believe me if I told you I shot this from Sea Point Promenade? Tonight's sunset was unreal 📷 Quite a unique perspective with the Canon 70-200mm as well as my Nisi filters. Squeezing this shot between the cranes and gusty winds was quite a task. But the gear held true. #capetown #seapoint #TableMountain
Morning magic over Cape Town 🌄✨ Lion's Head emerges above a sea of fog, as the city's lights sparkle below. Capturing this serene moment at dawn was well worth the early start. Who’s ready to chase views like these? 🏔️

The early bird gets the shot! 🌄 Chasing fog at sunrise from Kloof Corner, with breathtaking views over Lion's Head. There's nothing like the magic of a misty morning. 🏞️📸 #CapeTown#LandscapePhotography#ChasingFog
Is this Cape Town’s most photogenic spot? Blouberg Beach has it all—crashing waves, pastel sunsets, and iconic Table Mountain views. 🌊📸 #CapeTown#Blouberg#TravelCapeTown
