“Kidn@ppers are not just holding those children without sponsors. Do you know the kind of work DSS does? They can track and arrest you anywhere. Out of anger, I said I wouldn’t vote, but I will vote because it is my right. I want to appeal to INEC and the judiciary not to disappoint Nigerians, because they have disappointed us before, including under a former INEC chairman.”
– Pastor David Ibiyeomie
Only shoes, torn clothing, and bloodstains remained on the ground.
Moments earlier, 15 unarmed Christians had been gathered peacefully under a tree near Jos, Plateau State. It was a quiet Sunday evening. Women sat together braiding hair. Children cracked groundnuts and played nearby. Elderly men and women enjoyed the company of family and neighbors in the open compound.
It was an ordinary evening filled with laughter, conversations, and simple moments that many of us take for granted.
Then terrorists opened fire.
In an instant, joy turned to horror.
The laughter of children became cries for help. Families were torn apart. Mothers fell beside their children. Elderly people who could barely run found themselves trapped in unimaginable terror.
When the gunfire finally stopped, eight innocent Christians were dead.
Seven others were left wounded.
The tree that had provided shade for fellowship became a witness to tragedy. The ground was covered with abandoned shoes, scattered clothing, and the blood of people whose only crime was gathering peacefully with their loved ones.
Some families would return home that night carrying unbearable grief. Some children would spend the night asking questions that no one could answer. Some survivors would wake up the next morning wishing they could hear the voices of those they had lost just one more time.
Behind every bloodstain is a human life.
Behind every abandoned shoe is a mother, a father, a child, or a grandparent whose story was forever changed.
Please remember them in your prayers.
Please do not let their pain be forgotten.
MoG, Peter Obi tried severally to create his own party, INEC didn’t approve it.
Esther Ummoh said this. This same INEC? MoG, during the time of Zik and all, there were democratic principles.
Now, Tinubu’s aide is making press releases for INEC.
INEC Chairman makes posts supporting APC.
Wike’s aide has access to INEC’s backend.
Heck, Abuja denied Peter Obi access for convention’s venue.
A government will to deny access to a venue would allow the creation of a political party?
Peter has momentum in 2023. He still has it more even now.
I’m saying we cannot say he is a terrible politician. Nigeria is a terrible political landscape.
And Peter is trying as much as possible to navigate it without losing his core principles.
And that’s what endears his supporters to him.
He is head and shoulders above every politician on the Nigerian political scene today.
As a survivor of kidnapping and banditry, I can tell you that these criminals believe that no matter how much they take from you, you will eventually work and earn it back after your release.
Let me use myself as an example. After my family paid the ₦15 million ransom they demanded, along with other items worth over ₦600,000, they still weren't satisfied. They continued demanding more money and eventually asked for ₦55 million. They even told my mother to sell her house and car to raise the money.
Because my family rented a vehicle to deliver the ransom and other requested items, the kidnappers assumed we owned the car and were wealthy. They kept insisting that we sell all our properties and hand over the proceeds to them.
Omo, it was a terrible ordeal. The fear, pressure, and emotional torture were overwhelming. Watching my family struggle to meet their endless demands was heartbreaking.
One painful reality is that they often target ordinary and struggling people like us because we are easier to capture than the elites, who usually have better security and protection.
This is why we cannot continue to stay silent. Kidnapping and banditry have destroyed countless lives, families, and dreams across Nigeria. We need to raise our voices, stand together as a nation, and demand urgent action against insecurity.
Today it may be someone else's family. Tomorrow it could be yours. Enough is enough. 💔🇳🇬🙏🏽
The easiest election to rig is the one where very few people vote. There's a number of people that'll come out to vote and their rigging mechanism will be overwhelmed.
APC know this. Peter Obi knows this and he's done the difficult part of staying on the ballot against all odds. Your part in this as a well-meaning Nigerian is simple: vote, defend the vote and convince others to do the same. We can still save our country. It's difficult, but very much possible
I voted for Peter Obi in the last election after they counted the total votes casted in my ward and Obi won, I went back to my hotel.
I regretted that action, never again
So this election, after casting my vote and counting it in my ward, I will be following the inec returning officer to AMAC and making sure Obi wins there too, if possible I will park at ICC gate and make sure Peter Obi is declared the winner before driving back to my hotel this time around.
If the mandate is stolen again, this time around I will start protest from there straight to the National Assembly.
