Selective justice doesn’t go unnoticed by citizens. Fugitive Chilufya Tayali just walked into the country as a freeman after dedicating his entire time in exile insulting and slandering people. It appears he is exempt from cyber, sedition and other laws that have seen other citizens harassed and thrown behind bars. This is precisely the Zambia we reject. We reject it with everything in us.
Democracy isn’t just voting every 5 years. It’s also about tolerating alternative views & ideas of others. The current trend of describing those with alternative views as dull, clowns, uneducated, fools, backwards, etc, is very undemocratic. Anyway we are all still learning.
UNPOPULAR opinion: Dickson Jere would have been a breath of fresh air as an independent, capable of contesting and winning any constituency in Lusaka. Many marvel at how he has reinvented himself—from journalist to presidential aide, to lawyer and influencer. Fewer people ever bounce back after State House the way Dickson has. He has built a sellable, credible, and likeable national brand. On his own. Which is why I don’t understand his latest move. Had he gone in as himself, on the strength of his track record, he could have been the only reason I showed up on 13 Aug.
Heavenly Father, thank You for another day. Please lead me in every choice I make and help me stay strong even if there are challenges. Please give me peace and courage to trust You in everything. You are in charge. I surrender my day to You. Amen 🕯️🙇🙏🏿❤
If there’s one thing I’ve learned while observing from the outside during President ECL’s passing, it’s the unwavering unity of his family. They stood firm without compromise.
It is in terrible taste to sign a bill into law and not say a thing. ECL even issued a press statement when he signed the Cyber bill into law, despite how widely opposed it was. People need to know that this has happened. Aweh shuwa.
How I wish we starting looking at changes to the appointment of Judges, heads of government ministries (PS) to a meritocracy based system (candidates are interviewed in the open) #Zambia#Constitution
Mbuyiseni Ndlozi is carrying himself with such grace & class. He’s not degenerating at all. Putting out his points respectfully and not insulting people. This guy will come back and he’ll back stronger. Plus hes not tainted with scandals. He has a bright future in our politics.
@SimumbaTrevor Not a single one of you would be surprised that when HH leaves office, the next person that comes can take the case of eligibility back to the concourt. And you would not be surprised if the court again decides to reverse its second rulling and uphold its first.
@mutendegomo@DaviesTama45049@BuyoyaJonah The court has undermined itself and has shown that its not an independent institution. In both instances it has shown how weak it is. It never gave the right verdict when it ruled the first time and it has not given the right verdict now. It should have kept the first ruling!
@DaviesTama45049@mutendegomo@BuyoyaJonah What I do care about is the populous having confident in their own courts. For them to come back and change that verdict when the PF are not in power shows me how weak and controlled the Judiciary is.
@Yikucha2@JoshuaMinyoi@BuyoyaJonah If ECL was sworn twice in 2015 & 2016 was the determination for him not being considered eligible for future elections 🤔
What criteria was used to determine his eligiblity for 2021?
Isn't the same sworn in twice in offer suppose to determine him not being eligible for 2021?
@BuyoyaJonah What they have done is avoiding by elections, but ECL cant be eligible and ineligible at the same time. If he won elections in 2021 then he wouldn’t be eligible to stand in 2026, but he lost therefore he has a term and is eligible
