THREAD
1/ To all my friends in their 20s/30s
Even if you don’t care about spreading to others (grandma etc), the threat #covid19 directly poses to you is serious too.
A few reasons you should rethink going to indoor clubs/bars/gyms/rallies— all high risk for spread— right now:
@1mus7y@Eurostar@EurostarUK And even if it says otherwise there are some eurostar trains running a different route from brussels. So you need to change your reservation to a train tomorrow and there should be a eurostar train. The staff in london were not helpful but brussels was great
Hey @Eurostar@EurostarUK fun cancellation! You've rebooked me via brussels and now those trains don't run either and you've can't do anything on your website and your phone center doesn't accept calls. How exactly am I meant to get home?
@1mus7y@Eurostar@EurostarUK If you can get on one of the trains to brussels it's still very messy but there are trains from there (local or eurostar) going alternate routes. Not necessarily to Rotterdam but elsewhere in the NL
@1mus7y@Eurostar@EurostarUK Nope! Essentially they said just "not to travel" or take the eurostar to brussels and try to get on local transit from there.
Considering flights will be about 200£ this is deeply impressive
@EurostarUK@Eurostar@Eurostar complete lack of support and alternatives beyond "don't travel until July 3rd" is insane. I'm stranded here and the best you can say is "good luck don't go home"? We will not compensate your expensive new travel arrangements cheers? Wow.
This was a hard story to report.
At the morgue, the babies were brought in with their diapers and blankets and with their hospital ID bracelets still wrapped around their tiny ankles.

They'll call a fetus a "person" to ban abortion but won't call a migrant child in a cage a "person" to grant asylum. Some lives are only sacred when they can be used to police women truly.
Something I've been thinking about since 2017 is how rigid work schedules are a way to keep women over 30 out of the workplace. Because married women, women who have children, women who are caregivers are all professional and mature and able to accomplish a lot, but they all need flexible schedules. Rigid schedules seem efficient but they actually limit how much work can be done because they lock so many people out
Next time I need to recommend Robin Hobb to someone I am just going to send this blog post by Steven Erikson to them
This how she writes. Over and over again she sends characters into rocks that were present in front of them the entire time. And it never once feels cheap.
Between Iraq changing the age of consent from 18 to 9, conservatives in the US tweeting "YOUR BODY, MY CHOICE", one of Gisele Pelicot's abusers justifying his behaviour by saying "I thought she was dead" and women in Sudan taking their own lives to avoid being r@ped by paramilitary fighters... If you still can't grasp just how many men hate women, you're not listening.
Millennials are the elite generation because they cranked out 12-page essays the night before they were due. No ChatGPT. No Claude. Just lo-fi beats playing in the background, Black coffee at midnight, footnotes that were somehow correct, and pure delusion. Grade was an A minus. Period.
"grandmas was cooking 2-3 meals a day for multiple ppl, cleaning the house, and washing clothes what happen to these type of woman?"
These same women took their granddaughters aside and WARNED THEM "get a good job, and don't let any man tell you a DAMN thing."
