BREAKING: The Trump Administration is planning to end a subsidy program that helped hold down premiums for Medicare drug plans, per WSJ.
Details include:
1. The move will eliminate a program that is giving insurance companies an estimated $3.6 billion in subsidies this year
2. These funds are currently used to blunt increases in premiums for the Medicare prescription plans, known as Part D
3. Roughly 25 million people have Part D plans, and they will learn about their 2027 rates in the fall
4. Around 75% of Part D plan enrollees are expected see premiums for their plans increase
Medicare remains a key area of focus for the Trump Admin.
