Nigerian nurse Prisca Ngozi Umeobi has had her registration cancelled by the Irish High Court after being found guilty of professional misconduct and poor professional performance while working at Dublin's Mater Private Hospital in July and August 2021.
The Fitness to Practise Committee of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) recommended cancellation, which High Court President Judge David Barniville confirmed. The committee described her actions as deliberate or reckless abuses of trust, involving ill-treatment of vulnerable patients and a serious reduction of their dignity.
Specific allegations included:Failing to apply a dressing to a patient.
Delaying a patient's shower until the afternoon.
Leaving a knee-replacement patient unattended on a bedpan.
Acting inappropriately and making faces while cleaning a patient.
Repeatedly failing to follow prescribed care plans and assess patients for pain.
The committee ruled that the failings posed risks to patient safety and could not be remedied through education, conditions, or suspension. Cancellation was deemed necessary to protect the public, reflecting the gravity of the misconduct at the most serious end of the scale.
Umeobi, originally from Nigeria, is now removed from the Register of Nurses in Ireland.

These people are just as bad as Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil, they will replace you and transform Ireland into a foreign country without a second thought.

What actually explains Sinn Féin's abandonment of nationalism for leftism?

ARTICLE 62 EXEMPTION
This is nothing more than political theatre. Sinn Féin should know that there is no Protocol 21 opt out. Protocol 21 is an opt in measure. The politicians in both Leinster House and the Seanad voted to opt in to 7 measures of the EU Migration Pact on 26 June 2024. The government formally notified the EU Commission on 27 June 2024. The adoption by Ireland of these measures became legally binding 1 day (2 measures) and 20 days (5 measures) following publication in the Official Journal of Europe in August 2024. Ireland is treated just like any other Member State and the EU Commission can pursue legal and financial actions through infringement procedures for non compliance, as it did with Hungary.
The International Protection Act 2026, designed to implement the EU Migration Pact, was signed into law by the President on 22nd April 2026.
Most of the EU Migration Pact measures take effect for international protection applications on 12 June 2026. The Asylum and Migration Management Regulation (AMMR) relocation quotas take effect from 1 July 2026.
One would imagine that Sinn Féin
should also be aware that the only way to try and reduce the impact of this mess is to demand that the government apply for an exemption from the relocation quotas on the basis that Ireland is already under significant migratory pressure.
This is a game of distraction. What the Irish people should be demanding is that the government explicitly seek an exemption from relocation quotas under Article 62 of Regulation (EU) 2024/1351 (AMMR) before 1 July on the grounds of significant migratory pressure. Poland made an application and was granted an exemption. The government have not applied for an exemption as they do not serve the interests of the Irish people.
