It’s my 22nd 1st day in education. I have served as a sub (TJ/Crosby/Iroquois), a teacher (Iroquois & Stuart), an Assistant Principal (Meyzeek/Lassiter), a Principal Intern (Lassiter/Kammerer), a Principal (Knight/Frost) & now Executive Principal of Frost & Stuart! #WeAreJCPS
The objective of all obedience to God is Christlikeness. God is conforming us into the image of His Son. If in our pursuit and practice of obedience, we look, act, talk and love less and less and less like Jesus, something has gone awry.
Oh I know, I know. Less people will be interested. Jesus saw the same thing. And He turned the world upside down with 11. Quit entertaining the thousands and calling it evangelism. Train up a committed group of hearty disciples and watch the gospel go to the ends of the earth.
Leaders & teachers, we’ll be held responsible for how we trained the generation we leave behind. Let’s train up hearty disciples. Hearty in love & Scripture. Hearty in joy. Hearty in compassion. In commitment. We’re asking so pathetically little, we’re no longer even compelling.
When all seems lost, He is alive.
May the hope that flooded Mary in that moment fill every crack of hopelessness that threatens your life.
Our hope is alive!
She sees the heavy stone that once sealed the tomb had been rolled away. The grave empty of the beaten body that should have laid dead. In it’s place was His burial cloth, folded, and a message: He is risen!”
Can you hear the relentless questions fumble around in her tired mind "My God, how could You let this happen? Why didn't You show up? I believed Jesus was the Messiah, so how is He now dead?" Her hope seemingly buried with Him.
And then...
A long, sobering walk to the tomb. Preparing herself mentally for the reality she was about to face, maybe going over in her head what she needed to do.
Can you imagine how hard it was for Mary to get out of bed this morning? Her only motivation was the plan she had made with her friends to serve their beloved teacher the last way they could.
