I'm so happy seeing everyone's positive reactions to #TronAres
It's been a pretty big highlight for me leading the Layout team at @ILMVFX Sydney on this.
We sure did deliver a fantastic visual feast!
Hopefully some reels drop in the future to show off how we did it all!
Although I am deeply upset IMAX Sydney didn't take back the Southern Hemisphere largest-screen record when it reopened 😭
But I'm happy with us having spots #2 and #3 worldwide
(it's close but we're at least both in the Top 5)
I can't believe this "Global" Size comparison doesn't include the two 1.43 screens in Australia...
Melbourne's ~105ft x 76ft (with a 1570 projector ❤️)
& Sydney's new ~95ft x 78ft (digital only 🥲)
With both eclipsing most screens on this chart 🥱

@Andre_Shelf The *closest* example I can think of is Disney's work re-releasing The Lion King, Beauty and the Beast & The Little Mermaid. But 3D had mostly died in Australian theatres at that point, only coming back extremely recently
@Andre_Shelf It's a really interesting choice because in my opinion the 2d linework style of the show (and anime in general) doesn't have enough detail to sell the transition of depth from one element to another across the screen
Definitely already got tickets to watch it in IMAX3D though 😎
