Zamaās HPU & GPU Magic: Advancing FHE from Fantasy to Reality FHE was sluggish... until @zama_fhe worked his hardware magic. As an AI privacy developer I couldn't believe the HPU (Homomorphic Processing Unit) offloads encrypted operations to PCIe accelerators and cuts latency for DeFi/AI applications. Best of all bootstrapping on the GPU is now under 1 millisecond (56 times faster than the 53 millisecond CPU).
Explanation:The host CPU prepares the ciphertexts/keys and the HPU performs parallel IOp (integer operations) on the ciphertexts.The noise management in the silicon is amazing.There are no decryption leaks. What about security? The keys are on the CPU side and the HPU only sees encrypted data.Effects: fhEVM v0.10 scaled to over 1000 TPS and private swaps at Ethereum speeds!
For AI encrypted model training is possible without data exfiltration also batched for inference. For DeFi confidential lending rates are computed on aggregated (hidden) positions.Testnet stats: 85K transactions a week cost $0.0002 per bit.Genesis Operators (@InfStones) integrate for verifiable scale.
