@BKSportsTalk He has been bad for 4 straight games. Misses check down throws, is hesitant and the deep ball is inaccurate. His play just is amplified due to increasingly better opponents
@BKSportsTalk No question at all...he is an employee doing his job. Just like all of his coaches and his players. The purpose of the organization is to make $$$. They are very successful in that regard. Despite the chatter on the "interwebs", fans are still showing up, buying merch, etc.
@AugieNash They are averaging almost 37,000 fans a night. 6th in MLB. Ballpark Village is packed. After a 71 win season and .500 at best this year.
Why change?
Am I the only one that thinks that the Cards could legitimately go 11-30 the rest of the way and end with the same record as last year?
Yet, they are 6th in attendanceโฆ
@b_miklasz Againโฆhonest question
With BPV, drawing 6th in attendance, etcโฆis there really an impetus for ownership to pony up?
I donโt think they are feeling the squeeze.
@b_miklasz An honest questionโฆdo you think ownership wants to win?
It seems to me that we trade for marketable players that we can get on the cheap
Attendance has dropped, but will still remain easily in the top 10. Why would they change the formula if it is working financially?
@BKSportsTalk This team is constructed to be at or around .500
It will continue to be the model until the fans decide otherwise
You did a show about the lack of attendance when they "only" drew 30000 & they will still be in the upper 10%
Bandaid rotation, aging stars & overhyped prospects
@BKSportsTalk Iโll make this simple
They
Donโt
Want
To
Win!
It is a business to them, plain & simple
Shoot for 85 wins & line the DeWallet pocket
Harry Potter night last night had 35,000+ to watch a mediocre product
Just keep the bobbleheads, tshirts, hats, & theme nights rolling alongโฆ
@JoeInTheKnow4@101espn@katiejwoo This is spot on
Cards ownership has figured out the formula
Finish around 85 wins
Enough to claim competitive and if lucky, sneak in the playoffs
3 million roll through the gate & more into BPV
Roll in old fan favorites & pretend to care about winning
Am I the only one that is having Rams flashbacks with this Cards team the past few years?
Not saying that they will leave, but this effort + the โballpark needs $โ news gives me an uneasy feeling
@BKSportsTalk This is an exercise in futility. What is the ceiling? 90 wins? Cards ownership has no interest in winning. They just want to win enough. Keep payroll reasonable and keep turnstiles rolling.
