Strong finish to EASM ๐ฆพ
Presentation after presentation, session after session: the best showing for sport ecology research yet.
Merci, Paris! ๐ซ๐ท Au revoir ๐
Fabulous presentation at #EASM by my PhD student Viola Lyu of her research on the motivations for, and outcomes from, volunteering at the 2023 Asian Games in Hangzhou, China, making innovative use of longitudinal data. @lborouniversity
One of my personal highlights on this week's #EASM2024 conference was last night when I thought I'd try to flex my GCSE French.
Said to the barman, "Excusez-et-moi, ou est les toilettes?"
He looked at me and then handed me a menu...
Looking forward to speaking at this symposium this morning at @lborouniversity with so many colleagues in the room. @LboroVC@Joannemaher@bedform - giving the views about the challenges ahead..

Addressing how sport can play a leading role in climate action
Delighted to be hosting the Sport for Climate Action and Nature symposium @lborouniversity. It brings people together to focus on ways forward to tackle climate change & the impact of climate change on sport
@AmazonHelp@Amazon You don't understand anything nor would you really "like to help". I fill out the form AND LITERALLY NOTHING EVER HAPPENS. I've done it three times this year and your version of "help" is "we'll undertake an investigation but won't tell you the outcome". And then nothing
Hey @Amazon, despite a number of very public complaints in March, April and June, and some apparent investigations that I'll never know the outcome of, once again one of your drivers and just opened the front door of my house and let themselves in. Let me guess "Fill out a form"?
Hey @Amazon, despite me complaining publicly in March and April about your drivers just opening my front door and letting themselves in to my house, it has just happened again today. Your secret investigation, that you wouldn't tell me the result of, did absolutely NOTHING.
@AmazonHelp No other delivery company does this. Just you. Not Evri, not DPD, not Royal Mail. Just @amazon drivers think it's okay to let themselves into people's houses
@AmazonHelp I'm not DMing. 4th time this happened. It's always the same: please DM us, please fill in this form, we'll conduct an investigation which you won't know the outcome too. Always different people, none of whom give a toss that your drivers thinks it's okay to just walk into homes.
@AmazonHelp And if nothing wasn't taken or damaged, that's okay? The fact that, not for the first time, one of your drivers has trespassed in my home and you've done nothing about it is a joke.
Yes, there are instructions not to enter my home, but it seems these are ignored.
What a week at @EASMBoard in Belfast with @mcculloughbrian@WalkerJRoss@maddyjorr@sethkirby@jaylyid Andrea Collins, and more SEG members presenting! Congrats as well to our SEG Scholarship winner, Ioannis! And Walker took home the award (rose ๐น) for Best Reviewer! ๐ ๐
