I enjoyed speaking with Congressional Gold Medal award winners about the opportunities artificial intelligence can create for the next generation. AI is a tool young people can learn to use to solve problems, strengthen their skills, increase their productivity, and improve their lives. As this technology continues to develop, it is important that we equip our youth with the skills they will need to succeed in the AI-powered workplace of tomorrow.
I appreciated the opportunity to meet with Loma Linda University Health leadership to discuss the important work they are doing to support cancer research and improve patient care. Their efforts are making a meaningful difference for patients in our community!
California is the only state in the country still carrying an outstanding federal unemployment insurance loan balance, forcing every employer in our state to pay higher federal payroll taxes because Sacramento continues to fail to repay its debt. That is why I am cosponsoring @RepVinceFong's CAL Act to require states to use eligible federal funds they receive to pay down these debts before spending the money elsewhere. California small businesses, farmers, and workers should not be left paying the price for our state’s mismanagement. https://t.co/GE22DuKdna
Heather and I are praying for everyone involved in today’s B-52 crash at Edwards Air Force Base, especially the crew, their families, and the first responders on scene. https://t.co/1RdCnSihux
Today we celebrate the red, white, and blue. From front porches and classrooms to ballparks and military bases around the world, our flag is a symbol of the freedom, courage, and unity that makes America special. Happy Flag Day!
California improperly claimed at least $13.9 million in Medicaid reimbursements, according to a new HHS Inspector General report. Taxpayer dollars should support patients in need, not be lost to fraud, waste, and abuse. We must strengthen oversight and hold states accountable when these programs are mismanaged. https://t.co/hT1W75HxAc
On Women Veterans Day, we recognize the generations of women who have served our nation in uniform. Their courage, sacrifice, and dedication have strengthened our Armed Forces and helped defend the freedoms we cherish.
Artificial intelligence has tremendous potential to improve lives, strengthen our economy, and help solve real problems. But like any powerful tool, it can also be misused by scammers and cybercriminals. That is why I cosponsored the Artificial Intelligence Public Awareness and Education Campaign Act to help Americans recognize AI-enabled fraud, protect their personal information, and use this technology with confidence. https://t.co/zCO2vsXO73
California community colleges have lost more than $13 million in federal and state aid to fake students, taking resources away from real students who are working toward a better future. This week, the House passed my No Aid for Ghost Students Act to help stop this fraud, protect taxpayer dollars, and ensure financial aid goes to the Californians who need it. https://t.co/3K53wtYX91
Congratulations to Congressman James Gallagher on being sworn in to represent California’s 1st District! I look forward to working with him to deliver results for California and support the rural communities that are so important to our state.
Securing our border is one of the most basic responsibilities of the federal government. I was proud to support the Secure America Act because the men and women protecting our nation deserve the resources they need to do their jobs safely and effectively.
As robotics become more integrated into our economy, we must ensure these systems are secure, trusted, and not vulnerable to exploitation by foreign adversaries. I joined Chairman Moolenaar and Congresswoman McClellan to introduce the bipartisan GUARD Act, which would require national security reviews of adversary-made robots and block those found to pose a threat to our national security. https://t.co/vL2iH9p4B4
I recently met with the BlueRibbon Coalition to discuss the importance of keeping public lands open and accessible to the people who use them. In our community, outdoor recreation is part of our way of life, including off-roading and other responsible motorized recreation. I will continue working to ensure public lands remain open to the public while promoting responsible stewardship for future generations of Americans.
This week the House passed the Stop Child Care Scams Act to crack down on fraud in federal childcare funding and protect support for families who need it. This program helps low-income families afford childcare, but improper payments have wasted hundreds of millions of taxpayer dollars. I support this bill because it strengthens oversight, stops repeat abuse, and makes sure childcare assistance reaches the families it was created to serve. https://t.co/mUmoIFzLEC
Six states held primaries on Tuesday and California is the only one still waiting for major results. California voters deserve the same timely, accurate results that voters in other states are accustomed to. Congress should pass my Election Results Accountability Act to require states to count and publicly report at least 90% of ballots within 72 hours.

On D-Day, we remember the courage, sacrifice, and resolve of the Allied forces who stormed the beaches of Normandy and helped turn the tide of World War II. Their bravery changed the course of history, and we remain forever grateful to the Greatest Generation for defending our freedom.
It has been three days since California’s primary election, and our state is not even close in finishing counting votes. When vote counting drags on and on, people lose trust in our Democracy. My Election Results Accountability Act would require states to count and publicly report at least 90% of ballots within 72 hours.
The Working Families Tax Cuts created a new way for families to invest in their children’s future. Eligible children born between 2025 and 2028 will receive a $1,000 federal contribution, and children under 18 can still open an account. Families can contribute up to $5,000 per year, and parents can manage these accounts through the new app available in the Apple and Google app stores. https://t.co/ByllypeexW
