1. Buy 100 day-old chicks at ksh11,000.

2. Buy liquid paraffin for the first three weeks(used in cases of constipation), glucose for first day, a multivitamin plus detergent for 5 months at about 1500.

3. Buy LIVER TONIC and a disinfectant at about 1000 shillings. Liver tonic unatumia at the first day of each month for better results. Disinfectant ni ya after every 3-7 days.

4. About 100kg of Starter crumbs will be enough for 4 weeks. About ksh9000.

5. Follow the vaccination schedule as indicated in my earlier posts..total vaccination cost will not exceed ksh 4000 ukitoa Marek's coz maybe itakuwa imefanywa if you buy the chicks from serious hatcheries. The vaccines are two doses of Newcastle, two doses of gumboro, one dose each of fowl pox, fowl typhoid and a dewormer...this is enough for the first 4 months.

Kabla ufike 28th day, tengeneza about 150kg of chickmash using my formula..na hii ni muhimu sana coz hiyo chart ni cheap Sana ...iyo cost ya 150kg itakuwa about 7300 ukijitengenezea...Kama huna chart ukam nikutumie saii at only ksh 250. Total ya hiyo budget yote inakuja about ksh69,000 from bei ya kuwanunua mpaka wafikishe 18 weeks. I said a total of ksh69,000 for 100 chicken.

For 18 weeks, you raise each at a cost of ksh690.

Then uuze each at Kshs 1,000

And make Kshs. 310 per Chicken which is Kshs. 31,100 in 18 weeks!

This budget assumes that uko na chicken house and other equipment already...

Also this budget is only an ESTIMATE and not a true reflection of what is on the ground..but it's not far from FACTS....

It's also important to note that there may be more costs that are not covered here, making this post only an estimate.....

Hey Nyakundi, hi. My ID. There is this fast-food hotel in the Nairobi CBD along Tom Mboya Street called Rodgers Chips and Chicken that mistreats its workers. They pay everyone a salary of KSh 12,000 but one can end up getting as little as KSh 3,000 at the end of the month. This is how they do it. Once one packing paper for chips gets lost, you are deducted KSh 150, assuming that it is chips stolen; they call it "shortage." Sometimes they can assign their workers a whopping five buckets of potatoes in a single shift, saying that is the amount of chips they are required to make in that particular shift. In the chicken section, once a customer declines to eat their chicken because it is small (of course, they bring smaller chicken), it is upon you to know where you will take it because you will be deducted the amount it cost. A quarter goes for KSh 195, and a full chicken is KSh 780 for fried or KSh 205 for roasted, up to KSh 820 for a full roasted one. Imagine you will be deducted the amount from your little KSh 12,000, and when chickens rot or go bad, you pay for it as if you made it rot. Kindly expose the rot. Here is the manager’s number and the person who puts those unfair shortages.
