That’s a common misunderstanding many people have. Tax law and principles work differently from criminal law.
Tax authorities around the world, including MIRA, do not care whether income comes from a legal or illegal source. What matters is whether the money or value received meets the legal definition of income. If it does, it is taxable.
Maldives Income Tax Act (Section 3(m)) explicitly includes “proceeds of any criminal or illegal activity” as taxable income, along with unexplained monies, investments, and assets.
So if Kaizeen is earning money from illegal activities, from MIRA’s point of view the legality of the source makes no difference. MIRA will simply look at whether the amount falls under the definition of income in the Act. If it does, tax is due, regardless of whether the underlying activity is drugs, prostitution, fraud or any other crime.
Paying the tax does not make the original activity legal either and not paying it only adds another layer of legal trouble on top of the original crime.
The problem is MIRA is not investigating her.

I respect @geelaali, but this is unacceptable.
Addu dialect is Maldivian language.
Rather than responding in a mocking tone, the you could simply have asked @SobeAbdulla to repeat the question. In UK Parliament, cabinet ministers ask Scottish MPs to repeat their questions, sometimes more than once, when they struggle with strong Scottish accents. No one considers this disrespectful, it is a normal courtesy.
Majlis exists to ensure ministers respond to questions from citizens, who are represented by their MPs. Dismissing a question by claiming not to understand it is unacceptable. The appropriate response would have been to politely ask Sobe to repeat the question more slowly, or to request that it be asked in official Dhivehi if necessary. Neither was done.
Language must never be used as an excuse in Majlis to dodge legitimate questions.
You can make 100 videos calling me a liar, but does it change the facts? @Raffdeane
Are you seriously telling us a university just showed up at your door one day, all the way from India or France, offering you a doctorate cause you’re that exceptional?
If you were really that accomplished, how is it that I and so many others only heard of you 48 hours ago? I had no idea who you were. Someone with your alleged reputation wouldn’t be this unknown, don’t you think?
The acceptance letter had your student number too. Then the certificate was issued on the same day, with same date. You wanted this certificate. You applied for it. You had a student ID too. But people like @qasimibrahim for example, they have real honourary doctorates cause they had a lot to show. He didn’t have a student number like you had. He didn’t have an acceptance letter like you had.
This Dr title is not valid. You can’t use it. Please show some respect to dozens of hard working PhD students who’re working day and night for 4-5 years to earn this Dr title.
The least you could do now is remove this Dr title from your social media and say no more, just don’t talk. An apology would be great. But if you’re too embarrassed to apologise, then thats fine, just say no more. Nobody believes you. After this video, many people will see you as a pathological liar. The more you lie and try to defend this, the more it will damage your reputation, if you still have any left.
(Also, it’s not an interview you’re giving. It’s called a short video. You can call it an explainer too)
‼️Attention
“Apple Health Care” run by fake doctor @drshahurab is not registered at MED. He’s bringing doctors on tourist visas, doing “free eye camp”, to get customers. It’s highly likely he’s bringing fake medical doctors for this. This is an advertisement from Dec 2024.
@HKurusee@drshahurab Dr. Shahurab, Who is Prof. Leonal Raju? How did he become a professor? I couldn't find him on any university or institution website. Can you verify whether he is a legitimate ophthalmology professor?
