I feel like we don’t talk about how life-altering it can be to have bad neighbors. It’s quite literally one of the worst things that can happen to you!
58 buts. 👑

Zimbabwe is a very difficult place to live if you are just an ordinary citizen trying to get on with your life.
Yesterday, a young man got in touch with me seeking financial assistance to travel to Zimbabwe because he had lost his father. I helped him, and his bus left Johannesburg at 5 p.m. It travelled all the way to Zimbabwe and got to the border in the morning, where it was cleared. It then continued its journey into Zimbabwe.
When the bus got to Bubi, ZIMRA officials, who are Zimbabwe’s customs officials, sent it all the way back to the border for another search.
As I write this, that bus is back at the border. This young man left Johannesburg yesterday at 5 p.m., and it is now past 6 p.m. the following day. He had already done more than half of his journey from Johannesburg, only to be forced back.
I honestly do not understand why our government makes life so painful and difficult for ordinary people. It is cruel, painful, and heartbreaking.
This is one of the reasons many young Zimbabweans do not want to return home when they complete their studies. If you are not part of the political elite circle, life can be incredibly difficult. Even those who are trying to live by the book and simply live normal lives are subjected to unnecessary hardship.
It is heartbreaking. It is sad. The once respected Zimbabwe has become a mafia state.
Politics makes you realize how stupid people can be. Imagine believing in voting and trusting politicians. Voting is merely the illusion of freedom of choice. You don’t really have a choice.
Good people have high levels of empathy, but once that empathy is exhausted, they switch to a state of objective observation. They see you for exactly who you are, without the filter of their love. This is why their anger feels so cold, it is the absence of the warmth you took for granted
I realized people only like you when you’re easy to benefit from. When you say yes, stay quiet, and let things slide, they love you. But once you start saying no, setting boundaries, and standing on what’s right for you, everything changes. Suddenly you got an attitude. Suddenly you’re the problem. Truth is, they never respected you, they just liked your silence. I’m not being difficult, I’m being real. If me protecting my peace offends you, that’s your issue, not mine.
In 1995, 15-year-old Nicole van den Hurk was raped & murdered on her way to school in the Netherlands.
The case went cold for 16 years.
Then, suddenly, her stepbrother Andy confessed on Facebook: “I killed my little sister”
Police arrested him… but all was not as it seemed. It was, in fact, a deliberate false confession.
Andy’s plan? Force them to exhume Nicole’s body for modern DNA testing.
The insane gamble worked.
In 2014, the real killer, a man with prior rape convictions, was caught & sentenced to 12 years.
You should never be expected to be the bigger person when you didn't create the discomfort in the first place. Too many people cause the chaos, cross the line, then want you to swallow your feelings just to keep the peace.
Accountability matters. Being mature doesn't mean accepting disrespect or cleaning up messes you didn't make. Sometimes protecting your peace means standing firm and letting folks sit in the consequences of what they caused.
I actually dislike bad manners. Why do grown adults find it hard to say please, thank you, & excuse me? You literally get taught all these as a child.
