For the next three Saturdays, JFA brings free live jazz to Brooklyn’s Eubie Blake Theatre at Herbert Von King Park! Catch Nikita White (6/6), George Braith (6/13), and the Steven Kroon Latin Jazz Sextet (6/20). All performances begin at 3 PM and are open to the public.
A timeless moment from one of jazz’s greatest ambassadors. On July 7, 1957, Louis Armstrong (@ArmstrongHouse) performed “Beautiful Dreamer” on The Ed Sullivan Show, bringing his unmistakable voice and spirit to audiences across America.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for JFA’s 2026 Great Night Gala at Jazz at Lincoln Center. From tributes to Ernest Ranglin, Cal Tjader & Willie Bobo to performances by @NorahJones, Gary Bartz, @xPatriceRushenx & more, it was a true celebration of jazz.
Sonny Rollins (1930–2026). In 2015, Jazz Foundation of America honored him with a Lifetime Achievement Award at “A Great Night in Harlem.” Even without his horn, he lit up the Apollo with his spirit and wisdom: “It all comes from jazz.” Rest in peace, Sonny.
