The last 12 months:
Trump: I want the Noble Peace Prize, I ended all the wars
Nobel Committee: No
FIFA: Here, have this one
Trump: I'm invading Greenland! *seizes Nobel Peace medal from legitimate winner, attacks Venezuela, then Iran, attempts Armageddon because so is it written*
"The forecast is only a model" shouts physicist-moi, "I don't care what the model says, it's raining!"
The sky to the south west is now a definite shade of sullen pigeon.
Woke up to a new bean shooting through so the plants, oppressed in the heat, are also happier.
Good morning. How are you doing? I've been on the balcony where the temperature has finally dropped below Stupid degrees C and there's even a breeze. Then a hot wind. Then several large drops of rain.
"There's no rain in the forecast" says S from the shelter of the living room...
I made a job lot of Russian salad earlier in the week when we knew the heat dome was coming. Saves having to move much when you’re at peak lassitude. So anyway, S is augmenting it this evening with asparagus out of a jar.
They make a range called Tulip, excellent cards based on the old Amsterdam style + typography. I don’t know if they still do but they used to sell them post-passport control traveling out of Schiphol. If you see a pack, buy them, I recommend it….

Italy is now classified as a forest nation after one of the most successful reforestation efforts in human history.
Over 1/3 of Italy's territory is now covered in trees, the most trees they've had since the middle ages.
Every manicured lawn in the world traces back to one Englishman who was too embarrassed to be seen using his own invention.
Before 1830, keeping grass short meant a team of men with scythes, which is why a fine lawn was something only the very rich could afford. Then Edwin Budding, an engineer from Stroud, adapted a machine built to trim the fuzz off cloth and pointed it at the ground instead.
He'd invented the lawnmower. He was so convinced people would think him ridiculous that he only tested it after dark.
Cricket. Tennis. Wembley. Every park, every garden, every Sunday afternoon spent going up and down in straight lines. All of it starts with a man mowing his grass at night in 1830 so the neighbours wouldn't see.
Made in England. Like so much we take for granted.
When you’re hiding caches of weapons across a public park and the police are already in-planning the recovery of the body of one of your victims, you’re not the good guys, however you may refer to yourself as *kind*.
Hope you and your friends are ok @legaltweetz Sterkte from NL!
We were mobbed and attacked by Trantifa last night in Seattle. I was maced by like 6 different trans identified males, beaten all over, kicked in the face multiple times, and was completely blinded by being maced so many times in a row.
Full account from @ApostateAri:
“Last night, while peacefully recording video footage in a public space, we were subjected to a vicious, unprovoked physical assault by a group of masked Antifa agitators. The attack was swift and coordinated. One individual delivered a forceful kick directly to Hendrix’s face. Both of us were sprayed in the eyes and respiratory system with chemical irritants (mace/pepper spray), causing intense burning, temporary blindness, and respiratory distress.
My hat was forcibly taken, along with portions of my recording equipment. Hendrix’s phone was stolen outright. I was thrown to the ground, slammed onto gravel on my knees, and immediately surrounded by multiple assailants who continued to spray me at close range while I was vulnerable. The assault left me in fear for my life; the cumulative force and tactics employed could easily have resulted in fatal injuries.
Law enforcement personnel who responded to the incident informed me that individuals perceived as critical of transgender ideology, often labeled “transphobes” by such groups, are routinely targeted for severe violence in this area, which the attackers evidently consider their controlled territory. Officers expanded by explaining there were cache’s of weapons hidden around the park. Officers explicitly warned that continued presence could lead to lethal retaliation.

One officer expressed concern that they would be called one day to aide in the recovery of a deceased detransitioned gay man’s body from Cal Anderson Park.
This incident underscores the documented pattern of intimidation and physical suppression faced by detransitioners and those who challenge prevailing narratives on youth medical transition, particularly in certain urban environments.”
