Domestic violence happens within a cell phone as much as it does in the real world 90% of what we are is in the digital world now if somebody harms that part of you that is channeled into the digital world it is violence. Moreover it is a form of domestic violence under the appropriate circumstances. Stop treating the digital environment like a Scott free zone.
Abortions are hateful acts under the correct circumstances, and therefore involve the bodily autonomy of men and women abortions are a relational issue not an individuals issue.
Borrowing is the phenomenon of texting somebody not knowing that they are actually in on your internal monologue as opposed to actually relating with you does anybody else understand what I am saying?
I’m fighting a battle that I feel like nobody else knows about. I presume that they would care if I told them, but they also don’t have the frame for it. I often think that If they didwhat I spoke about would be self evident. but it’s actually pretty easy for people to sweep what is annoying under the rug even when it is somebody they love.
Everybody talks about the Bay Area being diverse, but truthfully, there is only a certain kind of diversity that is allowed here the restrictions on who you can be are quite aggressive here in the need to conform socially is a lot harder to disentangle from survival than many places beware.
The foundation of the psychiatric industrial complex is built on lies, manipulation, fraud and systematic deception. Its a house of cards and its crumbling.
The voices of harmed patients are being heard. The tidal wave is coming. Be on the right side of history
No, actually it’s not. They’re not just molecules on the periodic table belonging to the universe. It’s a stupid way of thinking about it. They’re manufactured chemicals and many of those chemicals have perverse incentives attached to them or are handed out like candy to the wrong people, including children.
I’m glad somebody is finally saying it and a doctor at that the world needs to take a cold hard look at what psychiatry is about in many ways. It’s a form of eugenics and a form of torture for some of us if you looked at some of our medical records, those of us most affected by psychiatry and over medicalization it would look as if somebody was being tortured there’s just no way around that. How do we justify that something like that can happen to somebody.
After being in court, I cannot help but realize that it is far more a charade than anybody acknowledges. not to say that it isn’t relevant or serious, but I think even the people practicing law recognize the charade. The law itself is a kind of bubble something far smaller than what people ordinarily pre-suppose I would be interested to get the perspective of different lawyers on that charade and the way they experience. bonus points if the story is funny.
I firmly believe that the more the criminal justice system makes room for people to tell their stories and for us to understand the lives they’ve lived, the more clearly justice can begin to reveal itself.
There’s a tension between people’s stories and the crimes they commit. Someone can commit a serious crime and still have a life story that complicates our understanding of who they are and what an appropriate response should be. The crime matters, but so does everything that came before it.
We cannot make decisions about incarceration based solely on what someone did without also considering who that person is, what they’ve experienced, and the circumstances that shaped their life. Their story doesn’t erase the crime, but it can give us a fuller picture of the person standing before us. Both matter, and both should be considered.
I can’t be the only one that feels like I was harmed by coming out as a C-section instead of a vaginal birth. Everybody’s different, if science can say that a baby is extremely impressionable in the minutes after coming out the other side, why don’t we assume that for some people more than others of birth by C-section is disproportionately harmful? Why have we just agreed that C-sections have no bearing on anybody’s lifelong trajectory, it matters to some more than others I think, depending on how sensitive you are.
If you’re ever wondering why we have a mental health crisis, blame FDA The mental health crisis are the drugs themselves and pharmaceutical company overreach.
Before 1997, drug companies had a much harder time advertising prescription medicines directly to ordinary people; the FDA changed its advertising rules in 1997–99, making TV and other direct-to-consumer drug advertising much easier and cheaper to do, which helped launch the modern pharmaceutical-advertising boom.
Anger management for men is not a healthy solution when anger is often an expression of poor health. Sometimes We should address problems with anger men’s health and give people safer communities, meaningful support, and real outlets to express their anger rather than using anger management as a weapon against them.
I heard somebody refer to the starving artist as a “poor business model” yesterday. Have people lost their minds? The starving artist was there because there was a time when it was art or nothing for some people. Now you don’t have so many artists, you have corporate servants. Don’t be a corporate servant starve before you do that.
Growing up with Munchhausen by proxy has given me a new appreciation for just how real our self images are. They’re not abstract, giving somebody a psychiatric diagnosis can amount to taking a sledgehammer to somebody’s self image you can change the way they act substantially by giving them a psychiatric diagnosis, whether it’s true or not even if every psychiatric diagnosis were real and prevalent should we be giving human beings the power to alter somebody’s self image in such a substantial way, especially in the absence of biological tests and worst of all in the presence of children who are still growing and developing. Meta recently paid something like 17 billion for harming young children I believe the mental health industry is a whole and whatever way we may be able to accomplish this owes Americans money for the damage they’ve caused so many people. It would be nice to walk back the immunity that doctors have for destroying people’s lives and removing the hypocrisy from the medical system and their mantra of do no harm. Bad medicine is intrinsically harmful.
