@1v9_leo @MickyJnr__ As far as I know the ref only has to check the VAR if there is any doubt. When no doubt he takes his decision and should the VAR disagree they can still call him.

@1v9_leo @MickyJnr__ When 2 fauls occure at same time the ref can or ignore both fauls or punish both.
In case he wanted to punish both it should have been a second yellow (so red) card for the defender and a red for the elbow giving attacker.
The ref does not know it was an accident, thats a guess.

@1v9_leo @MickyJnr__ De defender stood between the goal and the attacker, the attacker tried to slide by him and used his arm to push the defender aside, even hit him with his elbow.
All the defender did was trying not to fall and so grabbed the attacker who hit him in the face.
