40 years ago today #Mexico86 kicked off
ITV's opening credits were stunning & Aztec Gold would be used for the next few years on ITV & for the legendary Saint & Greavsie show 🔥
🚨José Mourinho on Pep Guardiola vs Sir Alex Ferguson:
“I hear people comparing Pep Guardiola to Alex Ferguson and I smile, because for me it is not the same story."
"For me, it is simple: one made history. The other makes… triangles.”
Ferguson built dynasties across different generations, different styles, different challenges. He wins titles with youth, with experience, with players adapting every season. That is evolution."
Pep? Fantastic coach, beautiful football, yes. But always the perfect conditions, the perfect structure, the perfect orchestra already tuned for him."
"Ferguson creates the orchestra. Pep conducts it."
"Big difference.”
🚨 Rio Ferdinand on VAR:
“Since when did this game get so biased?
For the first goal, Calvert-Lewin doesn’t even try to head it. He uses his hand on Yoro, Yoro misheads it, they score. No review.
Then with Martinez, both go for the ball. Play continues, no one reacts… but someone is checking it for a red.
At this point, it’s United against them.
Even if United score… you feel like they’ll find a way to rule it out.”
Im 3 years sober today, and I’m sharing my journey in this video—raw & from the heart. I want it to inspire those struggling & remind those on this journey, why we continue to struggle through it.
There was a time I drank and used drugs whenever I could, thinking it was no big deal, just part of the fun. Then came the phase where drinking had consequences—bad emotional hangovers, regrets, lies, and chaos. Eventually, it was just the consequences, no fun left, just a cycle I couldn’t see my way out of.
Back then, I didn’t even think I had a problem. Sobriety changed everything. These three years have flown by in a blink, yet felt like the longest of my life—each day a battle, each victory a milestone. Today i feel proud.
Being sober has made me present for my kids, given us Sage and Jaxx—my miracle babies who wouldn’t exist without my sobriety & my wife Shelly’s unwavering support. She stuck by me through the darkest times, & then pushed me away when I needed it the most, and for that I’m forever grateful.
Family is everything; they’re the anchor that keeps me grounded. I’ve learned friends come and go—especially the party ones. My biggest fear was losing them all, and yeah, that was the hardest part of sobriety. But it left me with a few incredible people who truly want what’s best for me & my family, you know who you are.
These three years taught me to fight my demons. I’ve learned to box, learned that I change my mindset on a daily basis , to set boundaries & its given me the confidence to confront those who treat me badly.
I’ve discovered I’m not made of glass & its ok for people to dislike me, im not perfect, im a peace with that. I’ve cut out endless toxic people who drained the life out of me. Because now I like me, I don’t need everyone else to.
If you want the people you love to see change in you show strength through vulnerability. Commit to something, and you can make it happen. I’m living proof that anyone struggling with drinking or drugs can change.
To those fighting this battle without family or who can’t see theirs, I know your struggle is harder, I want to acknowledge that and you and I’m thinking of you always. Dont give up.
If you’re struggling, please know you’re not alone. Share your story in the comments—I’m here to listen.
How are you pushing through your own challenges?
