Research group at the University of Freiburg and Fraunhofer ISE led by @pv_physicist working on optoelectronic thin film materials and novel solar cell concepts
Building on perovskite based tandems some researchers are now exploring perovskite based triple junction solar cells. Our PhD students Mina and Maryam Heydarian gathered a great team of co-authors to summarise the current state of the art. Check it out!

It was a pleasure to introduce our research on #perovskite based tandem solar cells in @_electrosuisse' bulletin (in German). Great to see that the electricity industry is interested to learn about the solar cells of the future!

Triple junction perovskite-perovskite-silicon solar cell with open-circuit voltage of over 2.8 V: Scientists at Germany's Fraunhofer ISE have designed a triple-junction solar cell consisting of… #renewableenergy#solarenergy#sustainability https://t.co/LMqSDscigv
We are delighted to share two recent successes: perovskite-silicon tandems with efficiencies of 30% and perovskite-perovskite-silicon triple junction solar cells with voltages over 2.8V. Both show the huge promise perovskite based multijunction solar cells hold.
Neues Paper in ACS Energy Letters: https://t.co/5JPgzyp6Dq
@pv_tech You unfortunately misread our press news. The tandems (two junctions) have 30%. The triple junctions (three junctions) are not yet as good. The triple junctions have a promising Voc of over 2.8V but currently 20% efficiency.
Perovskite-Silicon tandem solar cells combine two semiconductors for high performance. Can we stack even higher? Absolutely! Check out our new paper.
We stacked two different perovskites on top of silicon to achieve a remarkably high voltage of over 2.8V! https://t.co/hXQWJhm0BM
