The excitement at school when students found an anemone stinkhorn (Aseroe rubra) in the canteen garden beds.

It’s a spore producing fungus that resembles a sea anemone atop with a gleba (slime) that smells of carrion (rotting flesh) or faeces and attracts flies. #fungi #scied

@TannyRiach Spores and they appear to be more common that I first suspected. We have not found any others on campus so we are unsure of where the spores originated.
