2:50 EST-- "Don't boo -- Vote!"

Hope you got a bottle of water and caught a short REST, @ahylton26. Great pace, great interviews. 👍

The Man -- former President Obama is clearly stating: "... they cannot hear you BOO. They can hear [see] your VOTE."

[James Bradley #AirForce @Jbradmac]

Hi Folks. I am on "Assignment" this afternoon EST with @ahylton26. Good Stuff, man.

I decided to DVR "SAPPHIRE" 1959 British BAFTA winner. Good film, shows the English subculture are just as hateful and disgusting as this country's ppl.

Back to "The Assignment" for 👍👍🌹🌹

🚨 NEW: Mary Peltola reacts to the Trump DOJ's lawsuit targeting Alaska's election results, calling it a “desperate attempt to silence Alaskans.”

“This is exactly the kind of corruption that Alaskans are sick and tired of.”

At 39, Pam Grier faced a stage 4 cervical cancer diagnosis and an 18-month prognosis. Nearly four decades later she’s 77, still working, and living proof that grit can outlast even the bleakest medical odds.

Gale Sayers stood up at an awards dinner, accepted a trophy for courage, and spent his speech talking about somebody else.

"I love Brian Piccolo and I'd like all of you to love him, too."

Brian Piccolo was his roommate, and his best friend. He was fighting cancer. Weeks later, he was gone.

Here is the whole thing.

Sayers was the star. A first round pick out of the Kansas Jayhawks they called the Kansas Comet.

As a rookie with the Chicago Bears he scored 22 touchdowns, a record, and was the unanimous Rookie of the Year. One afternoon he scored six touchdowns in a single game.

Piccolo was the guy nobody drafted. A running back out of Wake Forest who made the team anyway.

They played the same position. They were competing for the same job.

The Bears made them road roommates, and the general manager signed off on it. It was the first time NFL players of different races shared a room on the road.

Nobody was sure how it would go. It went fine. Over time they became best friends.

Then Sayers tore up his knee. Everybody wondered if he would ever be the same.

The guy who pushed him through the rehab was Piccolo. The man whose job he had taken.

Sayers came back the next season and led the entire league in rushing.

Then Piccolo got sick.

He was diagnosed with cancer that had already spread. He was in his twenties with a wife and three little girls.

Sayers stayed with him through all of it. Hospital visits. Phone calls. He was there, every step.

That spring, Sayers was given the George S. Halas Award for courage, for coming back from the knee.

He did not keep it.

He said Piccolo had "the heart of a giant." The whole speech was about Brian, not himself.

And then he finished like this.

"Tonight, when you hit your knees, please ask God to love him."

Less than a month later, Brian Piccolo passed away.

Here is the honest part. There was no comeback. No miracle. Sayers' own knees gave out not long after, and he played just 68 games in his whole career.

But the friendship got bigger than both of them.

The next year, the story became a TV movie called Brian's Song. People still cry at it fifty years later.

Sayers became the youngest player ever voted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame. He passed away in 2020.

Piccolo's widow, Joy, was asked what it is like that people still talk about it all these years later.

"It just amazes me."

Two kids from different worlds got put in the same room by a football team.

One of them made sure the whole country knew the other one's name.

In this race, there’s a clear difference in priorities.

I am running for the Senate because I want to help people’s paychecks keep up with the cost of living. My opponent is running because the President told him to.

I can imagine it very easily.

Some ppl, sir, have to HAVE someone to HATE to make/think their pitiful life is worth something.

I have been alive over 60 years, military, civilian, corporate; white neighborhood, Black neighborhood. Ppl have to hate someone 🙄.

[Covie @covie_93]

I just cannot imagine a mother so full of hate for her own child that she chose the man who raped her 12-year-old daughter over her own kids then after her daughter made it through all that, the mother would pop up years later to once again try to knock her back down.

Truth 💯 👇👇👇👇

[Maria Shriver @mariashriver]

People often wonder why more good people don’t go into politics. Well, in large part, it’s because of things like what Vivek Ramaswamy did to his opponent Amy Acton. Ads like the one he put out are simply disgusting. They are examples of gutter politics, of trying to paint opponents in the most degrading light.

The ad that he and his campaign produced, endorsed, and are standing behind tells you everything about his character, or lack thereof. It tells you how low he will go. It tells you all you need to know about the kind of politician he is. I do not use the word leader because this is not the behavior of a leader.

We in this country have the opportunity in these midterm elections to elect leaders of character, of compassion, of integrity. Who treat their opponents with respect, with regard for them their history, for their families.

The good people of Ohio know gutter politics when they see it. The people of this country are going to throw men like this to the curb where they belong. May they can sit there and reflect on their behavior. They definitely shouldn’t be sitting behind a desk in a state capital or in our nation’s capital. End of story

[James Bradley #AirForce @Jbradmac]

Well done. Congratulations Manager Venable.

[David Axelrod @davidaxelrod]

So well deserved! @whitesox manager Will Venable took a bunch of untested kids, turned around the losingest franchise in baseball the last few years, and led them to one win shy of the AL championships.
This award was a non-brainer!!
