Today Year 2 reviewed their 2D shape knowledge from last year in the form of different activities! They tested each other with flash cards and then we went on a shape hunt around the playground @JCANumeracy #2Dshapes
Exploring composition to 5 in Reception, using the song “5 little speckled frogs” and representing this in different ways! Super maths this afternoon @JCANumeracy
Which 3D shapes can stack and roll? Year 1 have been sorting, grouping and investigating the properties of shapes this week using mathematical language @JCANumeracy
Lots of fun constructing snow ball runs this afternoon in @jcaeyfs
“I will make a track so will know how many points when it lands”
“I am putting a tally each time it lands…. 2 has the most points! If it gets zero points I put it to the side.” @JCANumeracy
Year 2 had a great Maths lesson outdoors showcasing their 3 times table knowledge! We wrote them in numerals and represented in symbols @JCANumeracy #timestables
Year 4 had a super maths lesson today focusing on area. We worked with our partners to find different possibilities to create shapes with a given area. @JCANumeracy
Year 3 made a brilliant start to the new school year. In Maths, they have been using base 10 to partition numbers within 100. They have also enjoyed learning about sketching techniques in art. What a great way to start the year! ✏️ @JCANumeracy
Year 5 had a great Maths lesson outside in the sun.☀️ We focused on using the ‘greater than’ and ‘less than’ symbols to compare 6-digit numbers. @JCANumeracy
Year 3 enjoyed identifying numbers to 1,000 during our outdoor learning this week. They used base 10 and place value counters to represent 3 digit numbers. #croncreteresources@JCANumeracy
Year 2 have been working hard in Maths to estimate on a number line. We worked in pairs to test each other on whiteboards and used sentence stems to explain why they were or were not good estimates @JCANumeracy #JCAMaths#estimating
Year 6 have made a super start to the half term. In our Maths revision this week, we have worked hard to read, plot and draw shapes in the four quadrants and worked in partners to give instructions to translate shapes. @JCANumeracy
Year 4 enjoyed subtracting fractions using #numicon this morning. They challenged themselves to subtract improper fractions as well as mixed number fractions #JCAMaths#manipulatives
Year 5 were super proud of their Place Value work in Maths. They thought carefully about their presentation and took good care of their work. 📖 @JCANumeracy
In Reception, we have followed the children's interest of dinosaurs to create our own numicon dinosaurs.
How many spots does your dinosaur have?

We have had some fantastic Maths learning in Year 2 so far! Going outdoors and using practical resources to recognise tens and ones @JCANumeracy #outdoorlearning#place value
Year 6 have been working outdoors practising how to round 5 digit numbers to the nearest 100, 1000 and 10000 . We have also been learning some fun songs about factors, multiples and prime numbers #JCAMaths#outdoorlearning
