I’m proud to have carried the Employee Child Care Assistance Program bill alongside Senator @lashrecseaird and to have the bill signed by @SpanbergerForVA

As moms with school-aged kids, we know the cost of childcare is out of reach for too many families. This program will help to address that!

Gov. @SpanbergerForVA: The idea that you are paying more than a mortgage to have your children in quality childcare is an issue that impacts all of us. It is not sustainable and frankly it's not acceptable. What I'm signing today is a response to the reality that we face as a Commonwealth. We're creating the Employee Child Care Assistance Program, a new tool that incentivizes employers to help their employees pay for childcare with the state matching those contributions. This is one of the ways that we can make childcare more affordable without putting the entire burden on families or on the government alone.

The Contraceptive Equity Act (SB 361) and the Right to Contraception Act (SB 596) have PASSED and have been APPROVED by @GovernorVA!

I am proud to have championed both of these bills this past session. Thank you to all those who fought for this legislation in recent years, including @ltgovhashmi. I look forward to continuing the work to protect and defend reproductive rights across the Commonwealth.

The gun industry has marketed weapons of war to children, made DIY kits to make ghost guns, and refused to implement practical, life-saving safety measures such as fingerprint recognition on guns because they enjoy immunity and are shielded from liability.

Well, that ends July 1, 2026 in Virginia. The Gun Industry Accountability bill (SB 27) has been signed by @GovernorVA
